    Buffalo or Montane?

Contrary to what many people have said I find that Montane fits me better. Quality of the montane kit is great too.

    Recommend me a mat

Ooops! Sorry, just re-read your post. I see that weight and pack size are important to you. In that case we got a Vango self inflating mat for my daughter from Cotswold. Good weight and packsize and quite reasonably priced.

    Recommend me a mat

If you haven't got to carry it (or at least not far) then Aldi and Lidl usually do self inflating mats during the camping season. We got one for my son and it is soooo comfy and quite reasonably priced. It's wider, much thicker and a bit longer than my thermarest so not surprisingly it is...

    Caving overalls?

Warmbac caving suit. Waterproof, hard wearing cordura and designed for this kind of activity. Not cheap though, so if it's only for the odd bit a cheap set of waterproofs from ebay might be more appropriate. Or if it doesn't need to be waterproof a mechanics boiler suit works well. That's what...

    I've been decorating.

Some of you may remember that a while ago I put up a request for old OS maps. People have been very generous so I thought it would be nice to post up a couple of pics to show what I've been doing with them. We still have more to do but so far we are really pleased with how it is looking...

    Everyday ice spikes

We have a set of the rubber ones each and they're really effective. In fact our local post people are issued with them.

My idea for a advent calendar

That's a fantastic idea! I'm sure you'll have as much fun finding things for him as he has receiving them.

help needed for the itches !!

We've found that the effectiveness of the clickers varies. Some are really good, others not so much. Really cheap ones from the pound shop trend to be less good. The bigger the 'shock' it gives the more effective we've found, so if you can try it in the shop that might be a way of gauging it's...

Swap - Radius No.17 Brass Paraffin stove.

Ooooh I don't know. I have several Moras so don't need any more knives. Have tariffs and hammocks so OK there. A bivi maybe as I've never had one. Baggage. Possibly clothing ( I'm usually a size L but I'm tall so need good length in the arms and legs). Cast Iron. Nice leather craft items...

Swap - Radius No.17 Brass Paraffin stove.

I got this stove from my grandfathers garage when we cleared his house and intended to refurbish and use it but never have. It needs a new pump washer and is missing the plug that screws into the top of the tank in place of the burner for transport. These were both available when I checked a few...
