    Beginners Chicken Keeping

One of ours (the hand reared from the egg one) does like to perch on me and watch tv! Just bought timber and wire to build a new run for ours. Good news on the egg front Red, ours were small to start with but have got bigger. Can't beat the taste

Why guns should not be carried in the wilderness!!

I did and I have no issue with hunting for food or the control of pest species. BP was also a racist and a homophobe by todays standards.

Why guns should not be carried in the wilderness!!

I've made no comment on the shooting of the snake. If thats whats done in America when they are clearing areas of snakes then so be it. My comment was purely on the cruelty of nailing it to a board and skinning it whilst its still alive. I cant see that as being defensible tbh.

Why guns should not be carried in the wilderness!!

With a sharp blow to the head. I didnt nail it to a board first nor did I set about gutting it whilst it was alive.

Why guns should not be carried in the wilderness!!

Not my trout farms. The only trout I've ever eaten I've been there when it's been caught either by me or by the people I'm with. (I don't eat a great deal of fish though) Cruelty is cruelty. Doesn't matter how you wrap it up.

Why guns should not be carried in the wilderness!!

You cant kill it first? Really? More interested in "less cruel" not more practical Crushing to death quickly and efficiently is NOT the same as nailing to a board and skinning whilst alive. I have done, sometimes do. I'd like to think that the compassion and respect that I have for the...

    Badgers

Badgers main diet is worms! They will eat anything, I know of a woman that feeds them macaroni cheese most nights and they line up to get it. When looking at territory marking experts mix peanuts with black treacle and add small coloured plastic pellets that let us identify latrines and dung...

    Sweet Potato & Chorizo Soup!

is there a recipe or is it just a case of boiling the lot up and simmering for a bit?

    Sweet Potato & Chorizo Soup!

    That sounds (and looks) fantastic!

Why guns should not be carried in the wilderness!!

That both practices are unnecessarily cruel maybe? It's one thing hating the species for whatever reason, valid or otherwise, quite another to go out of your way to commit an act thats going to cause suffering when there are obviously other ways to dispatch it quickly. Amazing that a great...

    ethics of game shooting

It has a lot to do with habitat investment mainly because in Scotland legislation such as Nature Conservation (Scotland) Act 2004, the Scottish Planning Policy and the Scottish Forest Strategy are all designed to ensure the development of habitat in Scotland much of who's funding comes via the...
