    Children's first knife (safety)

Hi All, Not posted for ages but frequent visitor! My 7 year old son is itching to copy his Dad making firsticks, tent pegs etc. I know this has been covered before but searches reveal old threads with inactive links. So, what would you suggest as his first knife? I have seen that...

    How sharp?

Hi all. Wondering how sharp you guys think a knife needs to be for bushcraft? My AW bushcraft knife still has its original edge which was never hair shaving sharp. Thinking about sharpening it - how do you tell if it needs it? Thanks.

SWC Handmade Knives - special tools required?

Anyone got a knife from Steve at SWC KNives? http://swc-handmade-knives.com/ His work looks good (looking for a Woodlore clone) and it appears that he is UK based but is not easy to tell from his website (prices appear in £ though). Secondly, I am thinking of getting one of his kits with a...

    Gerd Jørgensen (Bushcraft) Knives

Hi - Grateful for any advice from owners of Gerd's knives (http://www.mamut.com/gjknives). Quality, handling, value for money and service please. His curly birch handled felleskap is in competition with the Woodlores in my mind (actually it is winning the competition). His work looks...

    Spend my money for me...

Go on, spend it for me! After way too long making do with various knives for bushcraft (Chris Reeves fixed and folder, spyderco and Fallkniven), I have decided to buy a quality piece that is designed for what it is intended to be used for. Naturally enough I am tempted to get a Woodlore -...
