Condor Ktact desert kukhri - Any opinions?

Maybe everyone was busy playing in the snow... I have the Condor Alan used in Alone. I bought it because 1. I'd always wanted a usable Kukri that didn't break the bank (I have a tourist one from India and it needs an edge) and 2. Alan used it as his primary cutting tool and it seemed to work...

Condor Ktact desert kukhri - Any opinions?

I cant comment on the pro's and cons, but it is the knife used by Alan, the winner in the first season of Alone, if that's anything to go by. edit. the blade is the same but the handle isn't.

Does anyone use work trousers for Bushcraft?

I use similar. Mine are made from cotton and have lasted a couple of years and only ripped slightly when caught on barbed wire, but that would happen to any type.

    Speed awareness course.

The person that rear-ended me on the motorway had to go on one of these courses, while all I got a visit by the fire brigade, a free convertible conversion, a free helicopter ride and weeks of treatment.

Safest places to live post apocalypse ......... Just a bit of fun

Living in the West of Ireland I can confirm the prevailing winds. I thought the reason the freight ships were getting boarded was because the crew weren't allowed to carry appropriate firearms by the local port officials in cahoots with the pirates. I read that in an article a while ago by a...

Socks for your boots - layering?

Last Tuesday I walked 28km across boggy mountain plateau of 14 km and then 14km on roads using sealskin waterproof socks with a second thin pair inside. I have had them a long time and they decided not to stay waterproof on this trip. The damage was caused on the road section. This is my feet...

    Khukuri advice required

I'd stick to the full tang. I'd have thought it was easier to do that than try and do all the grinding/cutting filling/drilling for a stick tang without damaging the blade. This is a full tang large Nessmuck Stew did for me. IMG_3017 by chrstphrferg, on Flickr IMG_3018 by chrstphrferg, on Flickr

Yep, definitely me. The bipod has made things a lot steadier and the DIY shooting stick from 2 walking poles is the same from a sitting position.
