    Canoe looking all forlorn

Feel for you. Although in regards to that rotator cuff injury don't give up on rehab. I am an "RC" survivor  You can get better.. Took me two years of work but I am now 90% there. Its just a very long and painful process but it can be done and most of the time without surgery.

    Out and about Catch-up Thread.

Thanks. That bow has a slight recurve at the tips, static. I have made quite a few reflexed bows but too much reflex is hard to keep in a self bow which all of mine are. However been a long time since I have had the time to make a bow :( Hoping to change that soon, especially now as I have some...

    Out and about Catch-up Thread.

Ayup all. Its been a while since I posted some pics of trips so thought I would just chuck them all in one. Like most time in the woods has been a rare occurrence over the past couple of years. Anyways enough babble and onto the pics. This was last weekend. I dug out an old bow that was used...

Does base layer material matter if it's under wool?

Tried many poly and nylon base layers over the years from many brands both cheap and expensive. I cannot comment on warmth as I don't rely on a base-layer alone to keep me warm so any experience will be circumstantial. What I can say is I end up back in merino every time purely for the...

    Chestnuts

Up here (Chester) I have only found decent hauls on the very very mature trees. Also add to that some are just good years and some bad. I believe they do better down south and in much warmer climes.

No one needs to see another picture of a UKPK so ill not bother lol :) Tried many slippies over many years and its always the UKPK that ends up in my pocket daily. Its not even the prettiest and I really don't do "tactical" but since the day they were released I haven't been without a UKPK in...

Barefoot Ramblings. I have been in barefoot footwear in one form or another for the past three or four years. Looking for short bow info and found much more

Finding suitable timber for a shot-bow is easier than long for obvious reasons. If you intend on learning to make bows you need to get ahead of your material needs unless you intend on buying timber in. Even force seasoning timber your still into months. I made a little cherry bow for my lad and...
