Fair one! I don’t return the knife to the sheath when I’m working on a carcass for hygiene reasons (until I’ve finished and cleaned off the blade). The paracord gives me a few options to retain the knife - between the teeth, clutched between palm and pinky finger - for when I need both hands...

Kind of worries me that so many of you are worried about dropping and losing knives. If it’s not in your hand, sheath it. Simple way to not lose a knife. Very nice blade though Mistwalker. I have a P90 Ultralight as my hunting knife, although my picture is nowhere near as great as yours!

What’s it for? Yes a knife is a tool, but it helps to have the right tool for the job. The more info we have, the more we can help. For example, a Scandi grind blade is great for a lot of bushcraft tasks, but if you’re wanting to do food prep, skin/gralloch critters, butchery in the field etc...

If you’re looking for lightweight, I’d look to Salomon, Arcteryx or Scarpa. I’d say Salomon definitely have a tendency to run narrow. You can’t go wrong with any of them, though Arcteryx gets my vote.
