    Ventile Woes

There's got a to a point when expanded cotton fibres just can't cope anymore, not sure :dunno: The first ventile I used wasn't great in heavy rain, I put it down to being single layer, I had real issues on the shoulder area which then wetted out my inner layers. When I bought my own ventile I...

Trousers that are waterproof at the knee area.

I've got the mk1 Haglofs, they do come with a bit of DWR treatment but it doesn't last much more than a couple of washes, I've not tried to reproof them so not sure if Nikwax or similar will bring them back again. Even from new though, I don't think they would've coped with kneeling on wet...

    sevylor adventure canoe

There's no reason why you couldn't, some inflatables have really wide side tubes which can make a normal stroke tiring because of your posture, but that one doesn't look too bad. I had an old Sevylor Ranger which is similarly shaped, I found it much easier to keep momentum whilst seated with a...

    Guy line knots

It depends on what kind of tarp or shelter I'm using, if it's cuben fibre with no stretch I just use a marlin spike hitch using the peg as a toggle. If it's stretchy sil then I like some adjustability and I use a basic adjustable guy line knot
