    Old Tent, New Tent....

Ouch, when you said it was wrecked I wasn't expecting it to be so bad. So the shredding occurred as you tried to dismantle it on the last day, or did bad winds cause it to tear like that? Were you running a stove in there for the week? Good tips, especially about the sacrificial cord, I'll...

    Feedback required on product idea

Another consideration to think about with a hooped bivvy, you're likely to introduce a lot more condensation from your breath compared to a regular bivvy, you'll need a highly breathable fabric which is still completely waterproof, or water resistant if you're using a tarp. Water

There's no shortage of water falling from the skies right now, you could rig up a water catcher fairly easily if the forecast is still wet. (avoid a smoky tarp though as it taints the water)

    Berghaus Yeti Gaitors

I've been using a pair on winter Cairngorms treks for the last few years, they fit very nicely on my Scarpa ZG10 which have quite a stiff sole. I just warm them up on a radiator for ten minutes before I put them on, the final pull over the toe box is a bit painful on the thumbs but it's not too...
