I was going to put hand warmers, but the pockets are a little small and with all the stitching i do not think i would get my hands in. The pic is of my youngest son. Thank you so much guys for the comments Cheers Topknot

Just picked up my vest from a lovely lady who i got to know locally to stitch the pockets , flaps and button holes for me. Cheers Topknot

A little bit more work on the vest, shoulder pad. I have a prob with my S/M it will not go through the pockets and flaps, so i'll have to take it to a lady i know to stitch them on.

Thank you guys for the good feed back on the rod. I stripped all the old varnish off before soaking. The rod had been standing in an airing cupboard for about 10 years so i was told. Rob thank for the info on the cloth slip , will have to make one up and then find a bigger tube . Cheers Andy
