    Scouts Young and Old?

Yes, I'm an ex Scout...2nd Linwood Scouts, from Renfrewshire, from about '85 till I joined the army in '89. Where my bushy and wildcamping roots sprouted from I reckon. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Water filters. Which do you recommend for long term use?

How much are you willing to spend? I have an MSR Guardian Purifier. Pumps a nalgene bottle in about 30 seconds and filters down to 0.02 microns, and is good for 10,000 litres. The downside...the price. I paid £240 for mine about 4 years ago, but I have filtered some seriously dodgy water...

    TBS Grizzly knife?

I can't comment on that knife specifically, but for slightly cheaper, I have recently purchased a Casstrom Woodsman with curly birch handle. I believe the blade steel is the same...Bohler K720, but the blade on the Casstrom is slightly smaller. I do recommend you have a look at this if you...

What are the best non-store bought tinders

The inside of birch bark scrapings would be my first choice. Fatwood scrapings work well too. Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

Let’s see your cook kits in use.

This is my most used bushcraft cook kit...mk1 crusader mug and trangia triangle with a couple of steel tent pegs to hold the cup, as the base is too small to sit on the triangle Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    Cheapest down coat?

Hi guys, Not sure how to post links, but there's a website called Sport Pursuit, sells Isobaa merino wool goods for a fair price, 50% off retail prices I think. Loads of different colours etc. ATB, Allan Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    Hilleberg tent comparison?

Yeah totally agree there. I would say their nearest competition would be Nordisk and Fjallraven, and although their designs are quite similar, their venting designs are different, but Hilleberg's are definitely better. ATB, Allan Sent from my SM-G973F using Tapatalk

    Next knife - Recommendations?

Hi, My most recent knife purchase has been my Lionsteel M4 in M390 steel with green micarta handle. I recommend you have a look at this knife, it is absolutely outstanding in it's edge holding capabilities and stainless qualities, and at £128, has been the best knife purchase I have ever made...

Hahaha [emoji23] yeah I know what you mean. They seem to be selling out quick style from everywhere at the moment. Second hand ones are even selling on ebay in a matter of hours. Second hand Soulos are going for £850...I paid £660 for mine brand new 2 years ago! Won't be selling mine though...
