Pretty much any rock wool type insulation should work in this situation as long as it is nice and dry when you build the stove. If you come across some then i would build one and see how well it works
Just checked the label in some of the clothes I have from Helikon and they are sewn in the far east, Vietnam and China to be specific. I am very happy with the quality and workmanship and buy loads of their stuff.

Which countries are also doing this? I also really wouldn't use drug control as an example of how making something illegal restricts it's availability, our country is awash with drugs despite them having been seriously restricted for generations
