BSA Lightning tactical XL with nikko stirling air king 4-12x42 scopes in 177 cal

I have for sale a bsa lightning tactical xl, very nice gun in great condition. Very accurate and powerful. Also comes with a brand new set of decent scopes (nikko stirling air king 4-12 x 42), gun sling and bag. Sale due to lack of use (young family...) and to fund some new camping gear. £210...

    Luxe hex V4 plus pole

If it were a used example I would be tempted. But it's brand new, unused and comes with the pole that was extra cost at time of purchase. Happy to chip the price a little as is only reasonable, but not hugely :) Thanks for the offer though. Steve Steve

    Luxe hex V4 plus pole

Hi, The shape is different, it's hexagonal shaped so will shed the wind better than a slab sided mini peak (not knocking the mini peak though, no doubt it's a good tent also). Www.backpackinglight.Co.uk would be the best place to compare the two in relation to specifics. Hope this helps...

    canoeing and camping

Beaton midge jacket, keeps the buggers at bay, although hardly a fashion accessory :) Lots of people swear by Avon skin so soft and smidge, I have tried both with smidge being ok. Your better off just making sure you set up camp where there's a breeze :) midges don't like the wind. Steve

    canoeing and camping

Yep loch sheil nice, loch awe also good and indeed loch etive. If you go a little further north west though you have some right gems, loch morar, loch maree to name a couple :) if you are not looking at trekking too far north, loch lomond is good with plenty of islands, but I would only...

    Luxe hex V4 plus pole

Hi, I have for sale a brand new luxe hex v4 complete with the 163 pole that is recommended for it. I have had it for 6 months and the furthest it has been is set up in the garden once the day after I bought it to have a look. I seem to be spending more time canoeing and therefore take a...

DD Frontline or TW Green Hornet

I had a hornet xl, very well made bit of kit. Hammocking wasn't for me though so reverted to ground dwelling. Not because of the hammock but more bulk issue for backpacking in winter, pack size was smaller with lightweight tent and good mat than it was with hammock tarp and underblanket. Steve

    Loch Etive solo canoe camp

Hi folks, Thought I would share a short video of my latest trip out on the canoe. Despite the fantastic weather, I was fortunate enough to have the Loch to myself. There's some other trip videos on my youtube channel also; Loch maree, Loch Sheil, great glen etc etc...

    Advice on buoyancy aid

Watch the newton rating. Most mid range have a buoyancy rating of 50 newton, decent ones like palm kaikoura are 60 newton. The higher the newton force, the more buoyancy....you do notice the difference when bobbing about :) Steve

    Thermarest or exped down mat

Hi, from personal experience having owned the following two, I can certainly vouch for the comfort of an exped downmat 7. Absolute luxury, sturdy bit of kit. However, I can also recommend the thermarest neo air xtherm, packs smaller than the downmat, comfort very good, and not as 'crisp bag'...

    Trangia 27 - 6 HA Questions.

I have the 27-8 ul ha, bought a replacement non stick fry pan and the multi disc drainer. Beauty of the multidisc is not only will it drain your pasta, it stores inside the fry pan lid thus protecting it from the usual trangia fry pan scuffing. I also upgraded the burner to gas, it stores neatly...
