As far as I know, Global have two handle types. One hollow-filled and one solid-forged. There is a difference in the model number to indicate this but I can’t recall what it is.
I have a dozen Globals that I use regularly in the kitchen at home. They’re a PITA to sharpen but they do cut well...
I guess my most tradeable skill is oven-building and breadmaking. Hopefully I can find some farmers and a miller along the road.
I’ll take my wife of course, plus the nearest paramedic and all the non-tech meds kit we can carry.
We’ll also be heading to a friend’s farm in the middle of nowhere.
Unfortunately DMs are definitely not what they once were. There are now two different standards of DMs in the Uk. The standard stuff seems to be almost a patent leather which is super sweaty and tears easily. Also really hard to polish as it’s so thin and flexible.
The other “custom grade” DMs...
This one might be for sale. Drop me a DM if you do fancy buying one for a bargain price. If I were going to war I’d keep it but going to the woods I can’t justify the number of knives I own already.
