Varusteleka - the strange surplus shop from Finland

Lots of interesting items in thier catalogue but i've been reluctant to order because I don't know the procedure for receiving parcels in the UK. I've heard stories of demands for extra payments when the parcel is delivered. Does this happen and does Finland a non EU country differ from Germany...

    Sleeping bag on a budget

Eurohike Adventurer 300 are excellent for spring, autumn and perfectly adequate for current UK winters. They are roomy, no problems with the zips and generally feel quite cosy. You just have to make sure that 'in it' and pull the shoulders around you. Often on offer around £35 and IMHO better...

To wash or not to wash...that is the question!

This thread seems random enough. After a few days in the field my rucksack stinks of old dirty clothes and rotten organic matter. You don't notice it until you re-emerge from the forest into a public space and open the bag. It certainly whiffs. Any rucksack odour reduction/elimination tips please

    Hi I’m new to bushcraft

5' 9"". Don't actually wear a helmet. A metaphor for having plenty of head space. So many reviews mention restricted or tightness in the neck/hesd area

Bivi bag for large sleeping mats?

Other than the army bivvy the closest to your criteria might be the zipped Robens Mountain Bivvy. It's new to the market so there aren't any reviews apart from an unboxing on YouTube which is well worth a watch. It's certainly spacious, has mosquito net and an intriguingly obvious way of...
