    Advice on Hoarding.

Especially the spanners. Too many of them and none suitable for the job at hand.

    New Laws ??

If they're traditional khukuri then you are fine. They won't meet the required criteria that could get you in any trouble. Usual rule applies to needing good reason to have them in public of course given they're fixed blades.

Recommendations - knife rescale and sheath

I'm unsure if @robevs73 still does handling jobs on knives made by others but if he does, I find his handles probably the most comfortable of any UK maker I've used (as a caveat, there are a lot of makers whose work I have not ever used, but I know Rob's work is very well respected). Plus great...

An extreme weather camp at Cribyn

Very good on you for sharing this. It's a valuable learning experience for me to read about, exactly your thinking and reasoning behind what you did (all too in often omitted, whether intentionally or not, when things go awry). With the priceless benefit of hindsight, would you have stayed in...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

Can I ask what you sought clarification on? You won't get a meaningful answer on whether or not the BMF is covered by the previous or the new 'zombie knife' legislation unless you go to court. I think your earlier post (below) rather explains the situation - you wanted to be able to hand in...

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

But that's wrong. It does not qualify under the 2016 legislation as it does not meet the third criteria of 'images or words (whether on the blade or handle) that suggest that it is to be used for the purpose of violence'. You may as well hand in your Moras or kitchen knives, they're just as...

I absolutely love that book, still. I must admit to occasionally picking up one of the Willard Price Adventure series books...they're still great. One series I'm sad to say really didn't re-enchant me was Brian Jacques Redwall. I had such fond memories of all of those, but decades later, they no...

For a wild camping trip, I cut the half of the book I'd already read and took the unread half with me. The halves remain united on my bookshelf. I always over-bring physical books so I'm not left short. I just like the feel of them over an electronic device.

Most durable/long lasting waterproof jackets (without maintenance)

Certainly does - wet lower legs is a very different experience to wet entire crotch and thigh area

    Bathtub groundsheet

I really like the look of the OneTigris bathtub floor - did you import from the US or did you find a nearer source? Edit: just found Amazon...but I'll keep looking for other sources. I rather like the options with insect netting too but it looks like those might be permanently attached.

Most durable/long lasting waterproof jackets (without maintenance)

I thought Keela's System Dual protection was kind of meant to do this? Totally waterproof outer, breathable inner. I got the impression the outer therefore didn't be to be retreated, but I could be very much wrong: https://keela-tactical.solutions/system-dual-protection/

Same idea as your link, but the only part protruding is maybe 1mm where the steel folds over. I'll try and find a link when I'm back home.

Voluntarily handing in a large blade to the UK police

I commissioned a feasting dagger from a cracking maker called Bones - the single purpose of it was to extend life, by feeding me.

A few years back I was given some stainless steel line markers - they're very small metal arrows that clip onto the page and can also be used to mark the line you were reading up to. They very much stay put, no risk of them falling out at all. Recommended.

    £250 survival knife...

I'd never have the confidence to say that e.g. my fixed blade in Elmax blunted before my Spyderco Military in CPM S30V because of the different steels. It's far more likely that it's because I cut something different, or accidentally touched the edge on another knife, or sharpened one a bit...
