We have 2.5 acres and call it a small holding. Also a hobby farm. Keep sheep, pigs and various mainly ornamental birds. Also a small veg plot and various bits of machinery.
Need a real job to pay the bills and buy the animal feed though!
For a garden scenario, and if you have space, I would look on facebook marketplace or similar for some plastic pallets, stack a few on top of each other near a guttering downpipes, and then put an IBC on top. That should give you enough height to gravity feed a small veg plot or similar.
I have a Record 52 if that sort of vice is suitable. Based in Chichester if someone can get to me for it. Mounts under the bench rather than on top if that makes a difference
Love keeping/rearing birds. I kept quail for a few years some time ago, to be honest I found there were more productive birds to be reared if doing it for a purely food point of view. Even on a small scale, bantams or chicken breeds.
The quail were great entertainment, we had European and Texas...
Just when you think this country can't get any more ridiculous....
I thought chicken registration was bad, but banning 'machetes' because of feral youths stabbing each other with kitchen knives is more insane
How many bird flu outbreaks have there been in back yard flocks, I don't recall many if any, maybe the guy in Devon who caught bird flu, but then from memory his ducks actually lived in his house with him? Seems reminiscent of the whole covid isolation lockdown rubbish to me, trigger happy...
Having a generator, and using it when it is likely to attract the wrong attention are two different things, to rule out having one based on one unlikely eventuality which could be avoided by simply not using the generator in that situation seems silly.
This guy is great, he is Hungarian, and hunts with all sorts of older guns, wing shooting and roe deer and wild boar, very good videos if you have an interest in historic arms
A friends father accepted a caution for having a lock knife on him with no legal reason, he now struggles with car insurance and other things like that.
Definitely being aware of what you can and shouldn't carry.
