    How do I make a wooden tube/pipe?

The tribes that use blow pipes drill out 2m plus lengths of hard wood using hand drills, so its doable :). Maybe use a hand bow drill (firelighting style) to drill the hole first, a branch with a pithy centre should help keep the drill centered, then sand the outer to the final diameter?

    Respect...

A friend and I were camping on the North East side of Loch Lomond a few weeks ago, well up past Tarbert, On Sunday morning as we were packing up I noticed something shining in the water, (empty beer can), followed by perhaps 15 to 20 others. How do you make your leather cordage ?

Theres a few good books around, the one I have is "Braiding fine leather" by David W Morgan Not only does it explain the various braiding techniques, it also discusses the various sections on a hide, where the best "bits" are for lace and cutting it.

What's your anti-tick regime in camp?

I tried Autan last year Spoony, was alright against the midges, didn't seem to effect the ticks, and that was sprayed on my clothes and my skin. Shrug I might give it another go this year, I still have 2 and a bit left, (3 for 2) in boots so may as well use it :o

What's your anti-tick regime in camp?

Talking to various people, I'm going to go with the wash in and spray permethrin regime this year; clothes, and hammock/netting, I'm a magnet for them, my worst time was 19 embedded over the course of one weekend, who knows how many I removed before they had a chance to chomp down. I don't have...

    Howlin' Wind.

The video is better Rich, looking at it later I was thinking "what the hell were we doing in the middle of that!" especially with the sound of the wind howling past :) I need to sort out some software that will let me cut and splice it down to something photobucket will accept.

    Howlin' Wind.

Really liking it Jason, apart from packing the damn thing for a trip that is, the hatches are so small everything has to go in small dry bags, mostly 2L and 4L, the biggest were 2 x 12L with my sleeping bag in one and my spare clothes (most of them) in the other, got to love merino wool and down...
