    New knife for the Moot....

I’ve had a look at pictures, and I just don’t like it. Sorry. The Condor is the front runner at the moment. Still fancy trying out a Tracker though. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    New knife for the Moot....

The guy in the shop in Norway that I bought it from called it a lekku. Good enough for me...... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    New knife for the Moot....

I’d not be surprised at all. One of my main bushcraft knives has a 1.5” blade, a little BRKT knife. I just fancy something bigger for a change. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    New knife for the Moot....

I have a CS LTC Khukri that I picked up about 25 years ago that is a fantastic chopper and holds a fantastic edge. As to the Tracker, it’s a classic design. I’d like to see what I could do with it. I’ve carved spoons and trap triggers with a machete and a Khukri just to prove I could, I’d...

    New knife for the Moot....

I’ve no idea why the Tracker is appealing to me at the moment. I’ve just got an itch to try it out. The fox blades, I like the look of them both, and I like the look of them. As for the Condor, I’ve got a traditional Khukri, and like it, but I find the handle is a bit small for my hands...

    Wanted Woodlore Leather sheath Wanted.

No problem. It isn’t being used anyway, because I replaced it with the neck sheath when I originally bought the knife, so it’s pretty much original condition. I’ll let you know when I’m back in the U.K. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Wanted Tom Brown Tracker.

For some unknown reason I’ve got an urge to own one of these. No idea why. So, before I go ahead and pull the trigger from Heinnie, anyone got one the fancy moving on? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Wanted Woodlore Leather sheath Wanted.

If you have no joy, I think I have one in storage in the U.K. I’ll be back in the country for the Moot, so if you’re still interested then, let me know and I’ll dig it out. It’s the genuine sheath that came with the WS Woodlore. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

    Yesterday morning, bright sunshine...

As I type this, it's around 32°C and sunny, and the humidity is starting to creep up. Another month or so and it'll be 50°C with 100% humidity, which is why I'll be in the UK for a month....

    Beach bum has passed away.

That's sad news, I've sat round the fire with him a few times. It's a loss to us all. My thoughts are with his family.

Early Bird Tickets available until end of March

The stars seem to have aligned, and it looks like I'm going to be in the UK while the Moot is on. I may actually manage to go this year. I can't think when I last made it, must be 6 years at least.

    Traditional British Recipes

One of my favourites is not a meal as such, but an accompaniment to one. Skirlie Dice a large onion and sauté in butter until soft. Add oatmeal and cook until butter is absorbed. Serve with roast chicken dinners for best effect, although it's good with mince and potatoes too.

    Dilema: Fleece vs down.

I've got a down vest that I picked up in Tiso a few years ago, it's really good. Packs down to about the size of a water bottle and is seriously warm. I usually stuff it into the top of my pack when I'm out as a bonus layer, It's proved itself invaluable when sitting around camp at night when...

Stainless Steel Lunchbox - Elephant Box

Zebra make some nice stacking tiffin tins, 10, 12 and 14 cm win 1, 2, 3, and 4 layer sets. I can pick them up at the local supermarkets fairly cheaply. Some come with snap on plastic lids too Very popular with the compound staff over here.
