    Woodlore sleeping bag question...

I use a dry bag with an air valve (Exped make one, and you can get other makes too) Put the bag in the drybag, compress out the air, close the valve. the sleeping bag now takes up the same volume as the compression sac, but it's malleable, so can be moulded to the shape of your rucksack, and is...

    THe survival experts know nowt:)

The socks only thing really depends on the temperature. It needs to be very cold for it to work. Russian style felt boots and mukluks are after all more like socks that what we would think of as boots in more temperate climates. As to the fitness, if you're fitter, you're less likely to sweat...

    Multitool advice, please...

I'm looking at getting a new Multitool. I'm probably going to get a SOG. The compound leverage system looks good, I use the pliers quite a lot on the ones I have. The ability to swap out tools so I can customise the setup is also something I want to try out.

    Alternative boots...very pleased :)

I use Cat safety shoes at work. They usually last me about 8 months a pair. For me, that's fantastic, it's about twice the time most other makes last. Fortunately work pay for them. Can't complain about the quality or the comfort.

    Maxpedition Bottle Holder owners?

Be aware, the MaxP sizing isn't very generous. I got the larger one for a brew kit, and my stove (that is within the dimensions on the website) doesn't fit.

    Normark Super Swede?

I do love my Swede 60, It's got the basic green plastic scales, it's had years of hard use in it and still looks pretty much brand new. Holds a wicked edge too.

    Job market

Canada has a real shortage of people to fill jobs at the moment. One of my friends works in Alberta for a roofing company, all their staff are from the UK, they can't hire Canadians.

    Avtur as stove fuel???

I've used Avtur in a coleman multi-fuel with no problems. It was handy, I'd just drain some from a wing tank when we needed a brew :D

Is there an 'Ideal' back pack for bushcrafty stuff?

I think the only real answer here is No. The best bushcraft pack is the one that you can fit everything you need into, and is comfortable to wear. The perfect pack for one person is completely unsuitable for another. The most bushcrafty one I've seen was a roycroft pack, where the three pieces...

I know it's not a lot of help, but if you're a time served airframe fitter, BAe Systems are hiring at the moment. It's for the Middle East though.
