Savlon vs Germolene vs Neosporin vs Chloramphenicol

lol I started wearing 'lastic sides boots (Aussie work boots) when I had to do heavy digging work a lot of the time; can't do that barefoot. These days I work in an office, but I still wear the same sort of boots!

Savlon vs Germolene vs Neosporin vs Chloramphenicol

Australia. It was a horse stud as well. Every time I stood on a rusty nail, the doc gave me a tetanus booster - I think I had about 5 by the time I was 16, then they gave me one because I had bad burns (again, on the farm) and my arm blew up like a rugby ball. Told me I was sensitised to the...

Savlon vs Germolene vs Neosporin vs Chloramphenicol

My experience of working in a dirty (farming) environment is that the iodine is brilliant. We would get cuts on hands and feet (I worked barefoot a lot), wash off, put iodine on it (always present for treating livestock) and it was good. Sometimes dirt would get forced back into a cut and it...

Savlon vs Germolene vs Neosporin vs Chloramphenicol

Betadine (iodine) by far the best. The only reason not to use it is that some people are allergic. That is why it is not sold over the counter. Savlon and other 'creams' can act as bacterial growth mediums once the tube is opened, plus they will prevent anything from sticking to the skin (eg...

    Propane adapted for UK?

It is really easy to replace the regulator - and hose is cheap. I'd suggest replacing the regulator, just like others have said. Had to do the same myself on a dutch boat when I brought it to the uk.

    Friendly question - knife design

Currently, yes. There are moves to change the law, however. Even if the law is changed, I doubt the change would come into effect by the time of your trip.

    12v Water pump. Any advice

lift or push (head)? There is quite a difference. Most pumps will struggle to lift that far (although crosslandkelly has linked to a range that will cope with 12ft).

Grease and grit horns and probably a strickle

From what I know (and it is theoretical), the hammering 'draws' out the edge. If you didn't hammer, then continued sharpening would, after a while, result in a thick sickle edge. Sickles are used for cutting very thin and fragile stuff, so you need a similarly thin edge (just like you use a thin...

Grease and grit horns and probably a strickle

I don't think hammering and peening was done on billhooks and slashers. They normally have a convex edge, no need for it to be so thin, They are more of a chopping tool and need to be able to cope with striking a hard knot without rolling. Sharpen with a file or coarse stone I think.

That's what the OHO rescue knife is for, right?

    Leather bush hat

I've worn leather aussie hats for most of my life - that does look well made, very well made. A word about fitting - the leather stretches and gives quite a bit when wet, which can be from sweat or rain. So a proper fit is quite a tight fit.

    I visited Auschwitz today

You could say that about the USA. I'm not saying it is right, but it is a false equivalence. Focus on places like Burma, where there really is attempted genocide going on.

I'll leave looking at ann summers websites to other people and bow to your comprehensive research of the subject.

    Adventure Tape

Their reply saying that bondage tape has virtually no stretch is wrong - the stuff I had picked up had plenty of stretch. I think it is exactly what they are selling. Seriously doubt bondage tape is made from latex; lots of people react to latex.

    I visited Auschwitz today

I have heard of no evidence this is happening in North Korea. If you know of any, please tell me. However, something very similar is happening in Burma.

    Adventure Tape

It's bondage tape. Well, it looks like it. Look, the only reason I know about this stuff is I was helping someone clear out their storage and found a roll of strong, stretchy, non-adhesive tape in their stuff. It looked really useful, so I asked them what it was and where they had got it from...

    Splicing Nylon Rope?

Most ropes can be spliced, even kernmantle rope. I don't know of any that can't be spliced. Knots weaken a rope's strength greatly. If the ropes are thick, it may be better to seize them together than use a knot There is a really good site here showing splices for many types of rope...

The End of Internet Knife Sales. Law change could target one-hand opening folders

I think there are two possible intentions behind this change; one is a politician (or more than one) wanting to make a 'name' for themselves by driving through legislation that will be populist and popular while seemingly causing little harm to any industries. The other intention may well be a...

The End of Internet Knife Sales. Law change could target one-hand opening folders

Janne, there are plenty of valid reasons for needing a sharp tip for a knife. I have mixed feelings about this alteration to the wording. My personal feeling is that the 'flipper' knives are not necessary. One-handed opening, yes, but do any of us need a knife that opens in 0.25s vs a knife...
