    Pattern 58

Just back from a few nights away in it, just the medium bag and liner in a bivvy bag and it was fine. It just doesn't have the 'substance' of the '58.

    Pattern 58

No chance of me being "allowed". Only bought the Fecsa at Christmas.

Amazon Fire tablet/Firestick conflict only with BushcraftUK.

I'm afraid not, other than to say I use a Firestick, Fire tablet and BushcraftUK without issue. Sorry!

    Pattern 58

If I could get one in decent nick I'd undoubtedly trade my current issue multi-bag "sleep system" for it. I lent mine to my friend's idiot brother while he was homeless and couch surfing. He washed it... 60c in a washing machine, before giving it back. I just put it in the bin, didn't even...

Preparing for troubled times ahead - Advice on what is needed.....

Turning off the telly and avoiding social media will ease the situation considerably. Almost 14,000 people had died in Ukraine's war with Russia before Thursday. Things change less dramatically than you think.

Renting a cabin - anyone done it?

Was a serious problem to me in Northern Ireland during my & teens twenties, lodges/cottages & campsites such as there were at the time, were almost universally "families only" and in one campsite at least, the definition of "family" was taken to a point that would have the ranger/warden arrested...

    Projects or goals for 2022

I'd like to fulfil my long held ambition to own a little place in the country. I've a feeling it will be a few years yet though, not least because it's unlikely to be in the UK and my partner absolutely will not travel until we're "back to normal".

    Using broken stuff for Bushcrafting

About face the motor, work out a gearing/sails arrangement and you've got a wind generator, or a hydro one if you do it water wheel stylee.

    Blackhawk CQB Belt

Thanks for the info chaps, like I say... Long bit of webbing with buckle-y things!

    Blackhawk CQB Belt

Eh, it's green and has buckle-y things on it. I figured anyone who wanted it would know. It was in a bag of stuff I won at auction, so I've no real knowledge of it beyond what it says on the label.

    Blackhawk CQB Belt

Unopened package, goes up to 41" waist according to the label. What the operators call a 'rigger belt' I think. Open for interesting trades.

I'm going to show my age here...

Absolute necro-posting but it really is the most amazing (to me) thing. I became reacquainted with Bullet this week, I remembered Fireball, Smasher, 3 Men in a Jeep... What I had completely forgotten was the survival wallet and cut outs. It was like someone switched on a light in my head, that...

    Mora bundled ferro rod.

That sounds like it might indeed be the case here

    Mora bundled ferro rod.

I've had a lot, going back decades, and I'm still impressed. I've been using Exotac for a while now, and IMO the Mora item is superior. Might need more testing.

    Mora bundled ferro rod.

Anyone know who produces the ferrocerium rods that Mora bundle with some of their knives? Not sure if I've just got a particularly good example, but I'm seriously impressed by the size/heat of the strike I'm getting off it, wouldn't mind some more.

    Baofeng Fanboys & Fan Girls

It's not something I want to die in a ditch over, but they really do mate up well with Baofengs. Where Diamonds etc have the front end swamped.

    Baofeng Fanboys & Fan Girls

I think my point here would be that if you had a genuine 771, you wouldn't need to use test equipment vice the provided Baofeng articles. Seriously, it's the difference between opening both my local repeaters and not. There are a LOT of fakes out there.
