Cheers guys. Never had a pot hanger slide off. The dimple is very small. The point on the hanger and the weight of the pot keep everything connected. Only one way to find out is to have a go and experiment. I try different methods all the time, some work and some do not - this one does...

Great post. Thanks for taking the time to put it all together. One thing I have learnt over the years is that there are so many variables with the bowdrill that you need to accept that some days it just does not all come together - thankfully they are not that often. Cheers George
