I regularly live without mains water. You get to appreciate that water is heavy. When every litre is hand carried 800m you learn very quickly not to waste It. Learning to wash up and hand wash with minimal amounts.
Most people have little idea of their water consumption.
My bush shelter was more like a scaled down version of a Baker Tent.
the Nahanni deep canyons and gravel bars don’t lend themselves to this style of tent.
Similarly the terrain i wilderness camp in mostly now Finland is rock with fewer options this style of tent.

I used to have a green outdoor bush shelter. It used canoe paddles for poles and tension from the guys to stay up. On the South Nahanni it was absolutely the worst tent imaginable Endless flath trying to get the tension right with weighted rocks.

I much prefer winters in Finland. Cold and dry for the most part. Decent snow, frozen lakes to explore.
here in Sussex it’s very wet currently 4-5C. I live a 2km for the sea. Rarely get snow. So winters are miserable with mud everywhere and a damp cold that’s just not fun.
