Yes that helps it's a shame but I suppose that by design as I'm sure people when then use them inappropriately, maybe I'll get one to listen in and then get me and the kids some cheap little walkies. Thanks m,8

So friend of mine has a beafeng uv5r ham radio and I know that u need a licence to transmit with these radios but not to listen in he likes to sit and listen to boat traffic ECT witch is great just wondering can you use these radios...
I have a little Whitby and a grizzly pocket buddy witch is my favorite but because it's was specifically designed to be a EDC/ Bushcraft folder, people not in the know find it a little intimidating so am no considering, what my friend calls a gentleman's EDC knife lol
I alow and over night purge for cockles but not having a great deal of experience I figured others on here would know better lol with the laws ECT does and don't that sort of thing

Took kids down the coast to day, saved a dogfish that was caught up in a net with hook in mouth just laying there on the rocks, collected some cockles and about to cook them up
Kids always like making bits for there fire tins, cotton wool and Vaseline, Charcloth is fun to make paraffin wax cotton pads lots of little things to help with fire starting
Bit late for this thread, but I take my boys out and they like looking for things like king alfred cake the tinder fungus, fat wood and making little temporary camp items like a little table out of sticks ect
