Favourite carry-able cooking pan and favourite mug and why for both

Stainless steel Sierra cup clone I bought in the USA in the 1980s Aluminium trangia mess tin bought in the 1990s. I wouldn't recommend either and wouldn't replace them if lost, but I've had them for years and got used to dealing with their shortcomings. Bit like other old friends.

BcUK Photograph of 2023 Grand final Tie Break

I agree. It's probably my background in Art Education and aesthetics, but I am very uncomfortable about ranking works of art. However, I do vote every month mainly to show my appreciation of Mesquite's initiative and work and the participants' willingness to share their vision. Thank you Mesqite...

    Catapult ammo questions.

I usually use mint imperial as practice ammo. They make a satisfactory burst when I hit something hard. Few years ago i got hold of a large bag of glass marble with the idea of using them for ammo. Madame has just used the last of them to blind bake a pastry case!

    The “Isn't Life Great” thread

    Whats your oldest kit

Sorry, but I can no longer resist the temptation to make the claim that I am still using my great grandfather's axe which has had only three new new handles and two replacement heads since he used it.

    Whats your oldest kit

Not sure how wide a definition of kit the OP intended but the thread has reminded me that when making bird nest boxes a couple of years ago, my grandson used tools that once belonged to my grandfather.

    Whats your oldest kit

I still regularly use the hatchet that my wife used to use to chop kindling when she was a little girl. I rescued it from my mother-in-law 's garage sometime in the 1960s and gave it the much needed TLC it deserved. Both head and haft are original. I don't know how old the hatchet is, but my...
