Ban on sale of coal and wet wood.

Broch, I said the same. Then we moved, and we built a new house, with Scandi level of insulation ( but reversed H20 barriers). Love it. Walls are straight! Corners are 90 degrees!!! In our old house, I had a 'bump' on my head for the first 6 months or so, from hitting my head on the inner...

Ban on sale of coal and wet wood.

In the old property we had in E. Sussex, we had to replace the front door. ( Plus much else) I wanted a properly insulated one, as the house was extremely cold during the cold season. (Most windows in the old house body were from 1600-1700'. 3 bay Wealden hall house originally, extended twice...

I think the population level ( per square kilometer) in UK is similar to the Netherlands. I do not know how they solve it. But the first thing UK should do is to demand state of the art insulation levels. We all should. Research needs to be done for the most efficient, most environment...

It woul solve their problems for sure! But The Netherlands have a similar coastal shallow as UK, so wind turbines placed offshore are easy. In Norway, they have to blaced on land. Flat land is a premium there though. Each country need a different solution!

@petrochemicals Norway produces about 99% of its electricity by hydroelectrics, a tiny bit from thermal and wind. The gas is exported.

    Pine Martins and Squirrels

The Reds are just like the Greys. Playful, jump around, chase each other up and down trees, twitching tails. Great fun to watch! What is not fun per se, but interesting, is to watch the males fight for the females. Again, very similar behavior between them! We have plenty of Reds in Sweden (...

Get a Mora 162 or 163 for the inside of the bowl. (I think those are te model numbers) Dried wood is usually more difficult to carve they say, but I personally only work with Birch that is dry. ,

I second Larentius' suggestion about gaffer tape. Can be used in a splinting situation, to stop a deep cut bleeding ( maybe not a cut Artery though) plus as a sticky part in a large bandage. Most accidents are caused by lack of skill, knowledge and too much eagerness. Do not watch Bear G...

A FAK is essential. Compression bandage, Steri wipes, plasters. Anti histamines can be very useful. I am sure the Finnish army have a nice, conveniently packaged 'kit' that you can buy? In my unit, in the Stone Age, we used to carry the basic Swedish Army FAK, plus one extra one with a couple...

I will try to write this in a constructive and polite way. You should not have any packs on you body when sitting in a car, due to the airbags and seat belt design. If the airbag goes off when you have a chest pack on, the risk for fracture of your rib cage is quite high. Plus the seat belt...

Unless already proficient, do some Red Cross courses. Then practice on yourself, the bandaging, splining and so on. Very tricky. I had to splint my knee once. Took me close to a day.

    Pine Martins and Squirrels

If the population in Uk is ready to accept an eradication, it has to be a multi pronged one. Shooting, trapping, chemical, with predators. Costs big money, so I do not think any government would have guts enough to propose, or invest. There are other, worse invasive species in Uk. Japanese...

    Pine Martins and Squirrels

Like most animals, they keep to where the food is. Maybe they could be trained a bit, semi domesticated? But then, of course, shooting them off should be very easy in a park, then introducing the Reds. Not sure what many of the inhabitants would say though. We do not want another Metoo or...

Alcohol makes a nature stay much more pleasant. I have never been a big drinker, but consider it essential when in nature.

A back brace? Family pack of Acetaminophen ( Paracetamol) ? Walking distances with a weight in front of your chest will put a lot of strain on your back muscles, specially the lower ones.. There is a reason a backpack has been used for many Millennia, and not a chest pack. Even Oetzi had a...
