The tribes that use blow pipes drill out 2m plus lengths of hard wood using hand drills, so its doable :). Maybe use a hand bow drill (firelighting style) to drill the hole first, a branch with a pithy centre should help keep the drill centered, then sand the outer to the final diameter?

Theres a few good books around, the one I have is "Braiding fine leather" by David W Morgan Not only does it explain the various braiding techniques, it also discusses the various sections on a hide, where the best "bits" are for lace and cutting it.

How about Loch Ken, I've done a weekend there, fishing hmmm the signal crayfish have devastated local fish stocks I believe, but its fun line fishing for the crayfish, and they are very tasty.

Sorry mate can't help with that one, I have their solo which I rate highly, great bit of kit. Have you done a google search? I find a lot of valuable info via forum posts on other sites that way.

The video is better Rich, looking at it later I was thinking "what the hell were we doing in the middle of that!" especially with the sound of the wind howling past :) I need to sort out some software that will let me cut and splice it down to something photobucket will accept.
