    Lowe alpine sting - Weight

I weighed mine and it’s definitely not nearly 4kg, I can’t remember the weight - it’s on a thread on here somewhere, but from memory it’s sub-2kg As an aside it’s a superb pack, I have 2 - my OD green genuine Lowe alpine and a DPM awry copy - both are excellent but the Lowe alpine is a bit...

    DIY UCO candles

I make my own uco candles out of beeswax and spent ages testing wicks to see which worked best. I can’t remember what size I settled on eventually - will have to have a look, if they aren’t 20s I will pick some up! Thanks! Ed

    Increased utility bills

Ooh i have an eu20i and didn’t know you could propane them - how hard is it to do? I had a letter from EDF saying my electric bill is going to increase by 54% from April due to the price rise of oil. I thought EDF were predominantly nuclear so I am missing something here. I don’t know. Also...

    Millbank bag alternative idea

Yep, I filter with the MB bag then Puritab or boil it. I also only take from either large bodies of water (lakes for example) or flowing water like a river (not drainage ditches)

    Millbank bag alternative idea

I bought the browns version to compare with my genuine millbank - it works and clears faster but it definitely doesn’t remove as much as a genuine millbank bag

    Fox skeleton articulation (attempt!)

i should have weighed the bones, but guesstimating the whole pelvis is second largest after the skull in term of volume, but it doesnt feel hugely 'dense' - the leg bones feel a bit more solid if that makes sense so may weigh more?

    Fox skeleton articulation (attempt!)

Yeah and they angle back far more than I was expecting, there is a surprisingly large range of movement where they join to the spine so there is a lot of expansion in the rib cage. Will be interesting to see it all as one object

    Fox skeleton articulation (attempt!)

Havent updated this in a while as I have been busy moving house Abs renovating the new house. It’s still a building site but I am just stuck waiting on other people now. So back to some hobbies! I prepped, drilled, rodded and glued the left hand ribs to the vertebrae. Took a surprisingly large...

    Buffalo Special 6 - astonished

Oh absolutely. The pros far outweigh the minor cons to be honest. I have had my hood on for about the past month, it definitely improves the shirt when it’s raining or very windy but if it’s dry and not hugely cold then a bobble hat is fine. I have never used the face cover and dont expect I...

    Buffalo Special 6 - astonished

Oh other things I did - that are very minor The shirt has 4 zips, - one central neck zip with one slider with a string zip pull on it. - 2 side zips with 2 sliders so you can open it wide to slip it on and off, and also have the zip open and closed but the bottom portion staying together by...

    Buffalo Special 6 - astonished

Just posting my thoughts from another thread in this one for completeness I wear mine nearly every weekend and twice a day in the week at the moment walking the dog. It’s fine. There is no noticeable wear but it isn’t as fluffy as it was when brand new but then I have tech washed it once -...

I like mine. Albeit I have only had it 6months ish. I don’t have the issue with the rolling cuffs, I am not sure what would be causing that? I wear mine nearly every weekend and twice a day in the week at the moment walking the dog. It’s fine. There is no noticeable wear but it isn’t as fluffy...
