    Wood burners in the news

yep that is actually an issue tbh. Some woodland i have permission to enter (family owned) had some issues with fly tipping, and wood theft - particularly of the piles of wood cut up and stacked for biodiversity, a new gate and 4g cameras put a stop to it but yes, PITA

    Surplus for Civilians

Some of the Dutch stuff and French f1/f2 stuff on military mart looks quite ‘civilian’. As do things like the Austrian rip stop trousers Look for greys and olives? Some of the Swedish stuff can look less military by the removal of loops and badges etc. I won’t wear DPM tbh as I think that looks...

    Wood burners in the news

Untreated wood makes for good kindling though, I last summer had a wooden garden office built for home working and it all came on giant wooden pallets - none of which were treated chemically (just heat treated) and so new they were still leaking sap. I have split the lot down into 6 inch by 1/2...

    Very Thin and delicate leather

Lining for an item of thicker leather? Patches on jumper elbows etc? Things like tobacco pouches? Small sami style coffee bags? What thickness exactly? It will sew on a sewing machine. You could double it up - and sew it together with multiple rows of stitches to increase its strength?

Are you left handed, right handed, mixed or ambidextrous?

I have an aunt (professional musician) and she is the same musically - it’s astonishing, I swear she only had to hear something once to be able to play it on any number of instruments

    Mucky beeswax

It will still be fine for use as bees wax - just not for candles etc as is less visually nice, but for waxing cloth, or thread or any other type use it will be fine

    Mucky beeswax

You could try clarifying it a bit - I put it in a slow cooker full of water and let it melt, then I turn the slow cooker off and let it cool - the debris and detritus will either sink to the bottom of the water or be on the underside of the wax, with the nice yellow stuff on the top. You can...

Are you left handed, right handed, mixed or ambidextrous?

Almost ambidextrous but I can’t write left handed. Not as good as my right hand but I can do a lot equally - lots of years practise both as an amateur mechanic and professionally at work in healthcare

    Best Ferro Rod device

Okay it definitely floats, has a rubber seal as well so doesn’t let in water. It’s about 3inch by 1 inch but I think you can get larger, it’s very light but quite tough, lanyard hole on the lid

    Best Ferro Rod device

Do you want to keep the ferro-rod inside the contraption aswell? Or will it be seperate? You could use a delrin battery case - these are water tight. Get one of the larger ones and have your ferro rod attached via a lanyard maybe...

    Best Ferro Rod device

I second the RM ones - I have a couple - they definitely are hotter and fatter sparks than a LMF version. I carry tinder in a zip lock baggie in my pocket or bag

    Knife Postage

Sorry I misunderstood, I thought it was an international shipping issue in general. Both in and out. On the way in I presume a knife in a parcel would still have to be handled by RM or a UK courier though??

    Knife Postage

How do brisa, or casstrom post to the UK then? Might be worth sending them a message and ask what service they use? I had a couple knife blanks shipped by brisa - not problems when they came with DHL but one of them got stuck at customs with fedex (customs thing not a knife thing). That’s was 2021
