Like the look of that. Never heard of it before.

    Best Bushcraft books

Great thread. I think that ‘bushcraft’ encompasses so many strands of ‘outdoors’ so will be interesting to see what other folk include; depending I guess on where their own strand goes! My strand has pulled me towards the natural history side of things. John Rhyder - two excellent books about...

    Festive cheer without the beer

That’s the one I use. Nice ginger kick and mixes well with their things. Will check out the others but not one for having sweeteners either - I would rather have the sugar and not drink it as often.

On iOS you can use Siri to open apps on your device and also activate ‘Shortcuts’. Shortcuts are a series of actions build up in the shortcut app and can be very simple for example as you leave the house you could say ‘Siri leaving for work’ and it would turn off various lights, plugs and then...

    Festive cheer without the beer

Festive cheer without the beer - or without any alcohol! As a non drinker of a few years I sometimes enjoy a strong ginger cordial with ice as an evening drink if I fancy something to swill around in a glass. In the early days of weaning myself off alcohol I worked my way through the selection...

    HEXAMINE. PLEASE READ!

If it was true. Most of the policy advisers to government are long serving civil servants whom are directed by the former or currant government ministers running that department. Blame the government in charge, they thought it up. New legislation takes years to draw up and get made into law.

Campfire ban being discussed in Cairngorms

Quite agree. If you don’t own the land then you have no right to light a fire on it. Nothing draws the attention or ire of a landowner than a fire. Stealthy wild camping needs discretion. I only use my ‘fire’ stoves and boxes in the winter and usually only at specific locations like on the...
