    Home first aid kit

Answers FWIW.... 1) - anything that stops a massive loss of blood is good at the time! But I recommend H&H Compression Bandage. They pack nice and small and can opened and used one-handed (proven through real life observational experience!). You can carry two on your person with ease. 2) -...

    Still lots of Covid about?

Indeed, not quite as binary. I know people who partake in endurance events such as ultramarathons, road cycling, rugby players, who also neck 10 pints or more a week and soldiers who smoke or vape like chimneys..... underlying health issues can be unknown or historical I'm sure.

    Still lots of Covid about?

That's what I've always thought about it as well. My wife and I have always been physically active, and our diet (and consequently our childrens) is about 80% wholefood. None of us have had covid (that we know of, of course. We have randomly tested just for interest sake, or going on/returning...

    Still lots of Covid about?

Just a thought...... I do wander how much of an effect a person's existing physical condition has on their immune systems ability to ward off covid?

    Still lots of Covid about?

Covid? What's that? Seems noones really interested in it anymore...... As @TeeDee said, since its down regulation noones keeping 2m apart, no masks, no hand cleaning, public gatherings are totally OK now. So I suppose covid is still out there... Tbh, although I had the vaccs, throughout the...

    Crib Goch on Snowdon

@Limaed great advice! Some years ago, I and a good friend decided on a spur-of-the-moment night time ascent to Snowdon via Crib Goch. We are both very experienced in that environment, both being WML with big log books. Seemed a nice challenge but do-able. We planned to camp somewhere just off...

    water bottles and water

I'll use the nalgene bottle to carry water. Once empty and I'm in camp, the nalgne becomes my toilet in the night. I won't use it for water again until its washed out...... Unless I'm with Bear Grylls. Because then I'll drink my own pee from the rattlesnake skin which I carry for that specific...

Bushcraft activites: 2 x NATO 1ltr. With a 3ltr camelbak bladder in reserve for when I'm in camp. I choose this set up because I'm generally static and I'll drink a lot brews throughout the day. PLCE bergan molle panel ?

Years ago I modified my own PLCE bergan. I removed the small front pouch with a Leatherman, cut all the pouches off a load vest and sewed them onto the front of the bergan. I had three utility pouches where the old single pouch was, and three smaller pouches above that, with a thin velcro map...

    Ripstop Nylon

I was speaking to a guy who was in the Rhodesian Light Infantry and they used to make sleeping bags out of old parachute material. More as a barrier against the cooling breeze at night and to keep bugs off him as warmth wasn't too much of a problem. The soldiers used to keep them stuffed in a...
