A few years ago we (my MRT) got a special offer on Keela gear so quite a few of my colleagues bought some of their products. The general consensus after use was that their products were fit for the job and well made, negative comments were that the fabrics were quite heavy and some of the...
Quite a tricky question. I think if I'm working in the snow I would go for white gas and if not probably canister gas. I think gas starts to perform poorly when you get to around 0C and below whereas white gas works regardless. I've been on a few high altitude trips (tenting at 5500m) where the...
I don't know if its any use to you or you go on it but there is a chap selling Centurio 45's on Facebook (Outdoor Gear Exchange and Bushcraft Tradepost groups) for a very good price.
Can't think of any shops that have both but Nordic Outdoors in Edinburgh is a Fjallraven stockist. In Perth there is a shop called Bushwear that might have Swazi although I've not been in for a while so could be wrong. Anyway might be worth a visit as they have lots of other Gucci hunting...
Anybody know where I can get a surplus Swedish Army Battlebag 2000? I found a few after a google search but they're too expensive for me at around 850 Krona (£80).
This is what they look like:

I've never had an issue using a tarp over a fire. I use the British Issue Basha; its a heavy beast compared to some fabrics but is very robust and fends off sparks well. They're also cheap to buy, I recently got another one from the carboot sale for £2.
I set it at about 2 meters and it isn't...
Personally I don't think its worth the cash, the issue bergan is a pretty big beast as it is without more storage space. I'm guessing if you want to improve the comfort than you're carrying a lot of weight in it? Could you take less gear or gear that is lighter / packs smaller? Although its not...
I did a military survival course a few years ago and we were only issued with a SAK and a few other items. The course was scenario based on survival post an aircraft crash as the SAK is standard fast jet survival pack issue in the UK. Having done other courses previously I really missed a strong...

Thanks
Thanks for sharing looks like a grand day out.
I've got one of those Stomeng's too although I don't use it as much as I should. Don't know if your interested but it fits perfectly in the Brit issue bayonet frog which saves damaging the nice leather sheath and gives a more secure belt carry...
I picked up this pack recently off Gumtree for a good price and thought I would share:
The advert wasn't that descriptive and I guess the seller didn't have much info on the pack but from the Buckles etc it certainly looked like and old Berghaus model. Anyway the only info I could...
Wrist size thickness seems to be the accepted norm for getting a decent size piece of bark with minimal off shoots. If you need less cordage you might chose nettles or roots (job depending), the advantage of willow being you get a larger yield for simular effort and the strips can be a good...
