    Preppers Shop UK

Thank you, Their communication is shocking. They call themselves the UK's only dedicated prepping shop and only last month made a Prescence on This Morning on ITV. You'd think they would be a little more professional. I'm seriously at the point at which, if I can find the same item where I...

    Preppers Shop UK

Has anybody dealt with this company before? I ordered a lIfesaver Wayfarer from them last week and after 3 business days of 'pending' status, I tried to contact them on Friday via phone, email and Facebook but had no response whatsoever. I finally had a reply from them on Facebook messenger at...

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

I don't know if you know this, but you can use the Ordnance Survey layer on Bing maps for free. It just doesn't work on mobile device (unless you can turn on a desktop mode)

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

I also ordered it on the 9th, 5 minutes before I posted it here. I'd been waiting in excitement for it all week. All I got was 'Sorry for the inconvenience, you'll be refunded in 5-7 working days'. So I raised a complaint with the complaints department.

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

After waiting for 5 days after purchasing and the order status still saying 'Awaiting Fulfilment', It took me contacting Ordnance Survey today to find out that they have run out of stock and they will now commence the refund procedure which will take 5-7 working days. Pretty poor way to...

    What did you buy today?

I went ahead and ordered a Lifesaver Wayfarer. Talk of water contamination got too much for me.

    What did you buy today?

Tbh, you could collect any large container of water and filter it using the Wayfarer. The Wayfarer costs £105. As far as I can tell, it will do the same job. The cartridge is only good for 5,000L vs the Jerrycan 20,000L which does work out a little more expensive (4x Wayfarer cartridges = £180...

    What did you buy today?

Yes, they look pretty decent, and they filter viruses. Similar performance to the Lifesaver although the cartridge lifespan, according to their website, is only rated to 250L. But definitely a good option if you're looking for a water purifier built within a container.

    What did you buy today?

I'm really quite tempted by the Lifesaver Wayfarer, it's smaller and lighter than the Liberty, has the same purification performance and the only feature it's missing is that it doesn't have a built in water container so you have to have an external container to pump the filtered water into...

    What did you buy today?

I think there's a different level to the amount of chemicals and/or viruses one should expect there to be in the food that we eat and the water that comes out of our taps compared to the amount that could potentially be in our rivers with wild animal and human faeces and the run off from...

    What did you buy today?

Boiling won't remove chemicals, maybe distilling would. The UK is a small place, most water sources could potentially contain chemicals, unless you're high up a mountain.

    What did you buy today?

You can add carbon to the Lifesaver

    What did you buy today?

I would take into consideration what they can filter down to. The Platypus filters down to 0.2 microns, the Sawyer down to 0.1 microns. Neither of these filter viruses. I'm no expert on the subject, I've only done a small amount of research. Simon a bloke in the woods has an episode on his...
