Anyone else a bit like this?

Hmmm, I wouldn't drag anyone else into a situation...(well apart from you lot  ) I think as I say, bigger purchases which will often be on the realms of necessity (house, transport etc) are, in a manner, easier to make... smaller ones such as a takeaway or a coffee etc, again, pretty easy...

    Lessons for the Children

Actually I think @Woody girl and others have said it perfectly, communication and the ability to communicate is the most important thing. I don't know how to teach it, but I guess kids need to know how to figure things out and even struggle with figuring things out, but equally know that if a...

    Lessons for the Children

Not a parent, but my assumptions/handbook, should I be one, will be based pretty much on what I experienced. I got into martial arts, my dad was into it as a young adult and felt there were plenty of benefits - discipline, respect, order to things and of course fitness and the obvious self...

Would be a 2nd hand on ebay, Les Paul (Epiphone...not Gibson...can't justify the latter).

Anyone else a bit like this?

Oh I agree. To be honest I don't care what those guys spend their dosh on... people are allowed to do as they wish, even submersible trips of a lifetime... I think I have a bit too much self control or overthought about tomorrow and what it may throw at me... plus I think there is also that...

Anyone else a bit like this?

I think to start with, I have to say, I can afford food, I have a roof over my head and I have clothes on my back and hobbies, so I am certainly not poor, there are many people who are struggling in this world and my 1st world problems do not make me one of them, but I am by no means "flush" so...

Anyone else a bit like this?

I suspect not, given most of you lot are in are in that s-1 camp, where s is the number of knives/rucksacks/items etc owned that would result in your partner separating from you... But I often find myself failing to commit to a purchase - I wouldn't mess someone about by contacting them, more...

    Flies.

My folks had one of those, my Dad convinced my cousin (hes like a son/brother) to touch it (Dad was brilliant at things like that) what followed was a spark, a roar and a load of expletives:lmao:

What Food Combo's Do You Eat That Others Think Are Weird

@Bishop Not sure that's weird... my Nanna used to make chips just like that, not sure if it was dripping or lard (same thing?). I remember it was a designated saucepan, always sitting on her hob with a basket embedded into a white block of solidified goodness! those were the days.

    Random confessions

@Woody girl Totally agree. There reaches a level where I think there is no point in putting in the effort and finance involved... Admittedly I can somewhat understand how it must occur, family holiday, trying to keep children and partner (who might be less inclined) happy, thinking if you set...

    Random confessions

I suppose my confession is I went camping last week... we slept in the van 3 nights in various "wild" locations, then once in the tent in a campsite... I felt rather fraudulent really... although looking at the "tent" monstrosities I witnessed at the campsite, we were extremely under...

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

Following on from the lidl side of things, I see they have aluminium hiking poles, 2 for £14.99 I also see they have a turbo mini lighter for £3.99, it seems a little bulkier and awkward than normal lighters... Still have ponchos too...

    Gobsmacked

Charity shops are very questionable these days... not all, but some. Unfortunately in the UK so many are tied by regulations, especially surrounding furniture and fire regs... don't get me wrong, no one wants a flaming inferno in their front room, but equally 6 great condition wooden chairs...

    Wow, inflation

Not necessarily... perhaps overall it works in its favour, but many people tie up shopping with something else. So 1 car to the shop, then to another shop then home... vs van to your house then back to store, another van to your house then back + missed items/poor replacements etc... I wouldn't...
