A related question for those who regularly use Ali Express. I ordered a couple of items that stated 7 day delivery and gave a date of the delivery 7 working days in the future.
However, once the order was placed the summery says it will only ship in 8 days.
Does anyone know if this means the...
Not quite spotting but a very large drinker moth flew right in my face last night, the perils of wearing a head torch. It was a very large beastie for a moth, bigger than many butterflies.
That's why you don't see deer in nightclubs...
As for the T-shirts, I like the design as something to wear and you can get long sleeved T-shirts to cover your arms.
I've wondered if I could make some sort of multi-green / brown tie died T-shirt.
Not quite foraging but I've just picked some large blackberries from plants I've found and brought with me in a couple of house moves. Large fruits that are sweet enough to eat raw and rampant thorny beasties that grow well and produce huge amounts of fruit.
Frustrating today. Popped into a supermarket, one of those that forces/encourages you to use the self service tills by not having enough checkouts open. Scanned shopping, went to pay with cash as I didn't bring a card.... and checkout doesn't take cash forcing me to go an queue. Grrrrr as my...
I can't help much with planning, you could ask your local planning dept but in my experience they will ask you to submit even when it's not needed. I would go down the keep it quiet route. It can also depend on where you live, we're in an AONB which means they want planning apps for anything...
I have the domestic Stihl battery hedge cutter (HSA 56) and for a cordless tool it cuts thick brambles and shrubs with ease (I use it a fair bit for clearing nettles and bramble patches). I'm quite impressed with it so I would consider the Stihl domestic battery brush cutter if you can find some...
I suppose the best way to store petrol for a car would be to keep cycling through your store, so fill tank from store and refill the can. But that can be a pain.
As said ethanol seems to be a big problem, I gather some E5 fuel actually has no ethanol in. I think sadly stuff down here is the SW...
To answer the auction side of things you often see kukris, machettes and loads of kitchen knives etc for sale in most of the local house clearance type auction houses.
You can find a local one here: https://www.easyliveauction.com and see what they've previously sold. I expect they take the...
I'm currently looking after my mum again and occasionally watching some strange TV. There's one programme where they seem to dismantle old log cabins and move them, giving them a new lease of life. Some of the logs seem to be a couple of hundred years old, so perhaps the appeal is something...
I think I've said this before but I don't really EDC anything apart from my clothes. I don't really like things cluttering up my pockets or having to carry stuff. So no knife, key, phone or even a watch. The only thing I could store something in would be a belt buckle as I normally have a belt...
I'm not sure many people who don't have much money for food would want a squirrel or rabbit or woodie. I've known a few people who've tried giving it away and not many people are interested.
Having prepped a few squirrels they do take a fair bit of time to skin, and at the moment don't really...
No, but I've been thinking about one for years.
We also get quite a few power cuts but none long enough to justify a generator. Our freezer seemed to cope with a 24hr cut and as it's getting old I plan to replace it with a chest freezer that should last even longer.
One thing I have been...
Like most shooting, it'll depend on range. At a couple of yards it'll work, I wouldn't use one past that on a squirrel as they seem tougher than rats. Much past 10m and you'd have to get the range bang on to cope with the pellet drop.
