    Synthetic bags - brands

You're about right re weather! I used to work wholly outdoors irrespective of the weather, but now I'm an old git!! Very pleased so far with the Softie (I couldn't find anything on Snugpaks ads. that said the SFS was available extra long, or with the expander panel, that's good!) so far, with...

    Synthetic bags - brands

May well be the case, but packs up bigger and heavier, and doesn't come as an extra long., so I didn't feel it was the ideal choice for my circumstances? I don't know whether the expander panel can be used with this?

Are all 900 down bags the same?

Interesting...... I must admit I have no preference ....perhaps centre zips by a smidgen, but only because the zip issue you mention has never been a problem, certainly not on my Dutch M90 bag, which has superb zip baffles and a chin sort of baffle. My new Snugpak has a side zip, and that's not...

    SNUGPAK Softie 15 Sleeping Bag

Well................ it was used/tested lasted night in a fair old frost, according to forecast maybe 3 deg below.....? Before I go any further, it (Snugpak Softie 15) was perfectly warm enough and very comfortable........... This is the first new bag I have owned since the 70s, when I splashed...

Are all 900 down bags the same?

Fibre pile? Interesting both down bags measure smaller than a standard Softie 15 and would therefore be too small for me, at least?

Are all 900 down bags the same?

Some good info in this thread, and much to learn. Rightly or wrongly I have just added a Snugpak Softie 15 to my 2 surplus bags (I wanted something a little lighter and more compact when NOT in a canoe...) I was aware of the overegged temp claims but hope it will suffice for the UK....I am going...

    SNUGPAK Softie 15 Sleeping Bag

Unboxing pre rather than a re view? I wanted a "winter" bag that was just a little lighter and more portable for rucksack usage than my army surplus M90, ( superb for canoe and car carrying?) which is a fabulous bag, especially at £48, but very heavy and bulky. I'm guessing the weight of the...

    What did you buy today?

"lockdown" the confining of prisoners to their cells, typically in order to regain control during a riot. "quarantine" A quarantine is a restriction on the movement of people and goods which is intended to prevent the spread of disease . One is accurate, the other not?

    What did you buy today?

Why does everyone use the alarmist phrase "lockdown", when it's a quarantine?? Are we in prison? (No obvious retorts!)

    SNUGPAK sleeping bags...

A nice review, thank you for that: I'm not sure mine has a torch anywhere, but the piece on the expansion panel is interesting, as I have ordered one, but not so sure now, about the not having a baffle bit........we'll see?

    What did you buy today?

Like Woody Girl, a Snugpak sleeping bag, in my case the Softie 15 xtra long. Awaiting delivery...............

    Canvas packs?

    Just lovely....…….

    Synthetic bags - brands

After another recommendation, I've opted for a Snugpak...in this case a Softie 15 extra long...………? (Review now on site in Review sect.)

    Cleaning sleeping bags

No bag should REALLY be washed...it will ultimately degrade it/damage the fibres and lose loft. The 90 bag (95?) is old style synthetic (I have one) hollofil. If you HAVE to wash it, do so on a cool gentle wash, using soap flakes, not detergent. Tumble dry gently and again coolly. Air and fluff...

    SNUGPAK sleeping bags...

Lol!!! I need to go online and investigate this water filter too?????

    SNUGPAK sleeping bags...

Have you used the new bag yet?
  17. Laurence Milton

    SNUGPAK sleeping bags...

Thank you both. I tend to use army surplus stuff like the wonderful M90, but needed something less bulky as I am hoping to do a little one bag canoe overnighter, but loads of portages. Snugpaks nomenclature is really confusing!! On recommendation, I opted for the Tactical 4, but Snugpak advised...

    SNUGPAK sleeping bags...

Does anyone on here use either a Tactical 4 or Softie 15 sleeping bag from Snugpak? Any thoughts or opinions on either of these bags? Many thanks.

Dutch army 2 two man tent. Does anyone actually have one?

Very late I know: but there are now reviews here on the Dutch tent, the French (polycotton) tent, and the Lavvu
