    Travel spinning rod advice

I'd go with a multi section, I've used Fox (http://www.foxint.com/index.php) in the past which have been great, or you might think about using a sling for your current setup. I've used a minimalist home made sling, cycling and angling along the grand union for years.

    What did you buy today?

Today I bought 3x merino base layer in sage green from Chocolate Fish (http://www.chocolatefishmerino.co.uk/) The previous set gave me years of constant wear, and I pretty much live in them from around the end of September until early April. Which means year round I never have to wear heavy...

Help and Advice for Back Sufferer Please?

What a mangled bunch we are. :) The only thing I'm sure of after twenty something years of managing my back related pain/issues is that no two cases are entirely the same. No matter how similar they are. In my case. Following advice from health pro's on both sides of the divide, I spent the...

    Strangest thing you've ever eaten?

Alligator at a restaurant which I recall I very much enjoyed. Ostrich steaks at a friends house which were pretty good. Rattlesnake in Overton nr Las Vegas that was stringy. Baked pike fresh from a Devon river that tasted fairly bland. Oh, and I ate a wood lice once by accident though apparently...

Help and Advice for Back Sufferer Please?

Thanks for the advice guys. Pete, that would be perfect. What sort of price are the two hammocks you've mentioned, and would you recommend anywhere to buy? I suppose the place to start would be with a cheap option and see if it's a starter for me, any suggestions please?

Help and Advice for Back Sufferer Please?

Following on from my post in the What is your preferred shelter for bushy camping? thread I'd appreciate your help and advice please folks? I'm upper 40's, 6 foot, 16 stones, and suffer with my back following a fracture whilst in my early twenties. During the past twenty years or so I've spent...

What's your preferred shelter when camping?

Due to suffering a fractured spine, and then undergoing major surgery some 20yrs ago, I cannot sleep on the ground. In which case I have two setups. One is a tent with folding bedchair, and the other involves a lightweight reclining chair and poncho. I do wonder how I'd do in a hammock which is...
