Covid-19 Travel for exercise - Reasonable distance

Thanks for your posts oldtimer. Just to be clear I’m genuinely not advocating any particular view. My only agenda is to see what most people feel is reasonable. Your point about this being more complex than the poll choices allow is a very valid one and I appreciate your point of view.

Covid-19 Travel for exercise - Reasonable distance

All very interesting and even though there are differing views already in this thread, they are all sensible and make sense in their own right. Good to hear the variety of thoughts so thanks for sharing.

Thanks for your vote and sharing your views Henchy! I won’t say whether I agree or disagree as I want to try (atleast for now) to be impartial for the sake of the thread. It’s a really interesting topic though and looking forward to hearing more views.

Covid-19 Travel for exercise - Reasonable distance

Hi guys, I’ve not posted for a while but I believe the people of this forum are best placed to answer a burning question I have. I’m interested in the general consensus (if there is one) on how far people think is reasonable to travel for exercise. The current government guidelines say clearly...

Removing lining from a Fjallraven greenland

Thanks for the replies. My thought process was exactly as you described John, and in the end I opted to unpick the seams and pull out the lining. Quite fun actually, sort of skinning an animal. The two long seams where the zip attaches were the worst, as they were stitched through the lining...

Removing lining from a Fjallraven greenland

Hi all, I was lucky enough to grab what I thought was a fjallraven greenland jacket from an online charity shop for cheap, however it is infact a greenland winter jacket, and the fur lining will resign it to getting used about 3 times a year unfortunately. I have down jackets, and heavy barbour...

Is this a genuine Martindale knife, or a Chinese copy?

Hi all, I've recently dug out a machete I've had for about 7 years. It doesn't hold an edge well, and although I'm pretty hopeless at sharpening, it just won't take a very good edge. I was having a read on these forums about them, and I'm now concerned it might be a chinese copy. If you can...

Oddest things found in the woods?

Bowlander, I'm not sure if you wanted info about the specific bunker you stumbled upon, but have a look at this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Royal_Observer_Corps_Monitoring_Post They are still a relatively unknown part of the post world war 2/ cold war legacy. My father told me about them a...

Oddest things found in the woods?

Very interesting. Well there was probably between an inch and two inches of fallen foliage, so I guess that would indicate a year or two. The ideas running through my mind at the time were quite macabre, but in reality I imagine somebody has just done some dumping. It's a damn shame to find...

Oddest things found in the woods?

Hi all, I've been getting out and about alot more recently, and this weekend I've spent a day in the forest of dean, and today I spent the afternoon in a forestry block in the black mountains. Just turned up, practiced a bit of shelter making, and cooking on a fire. What's odd is that in the...

    Titan Smock Modifications

Hi all, I know there are a few threads about titan smocks, but I recently got one and thought I'd share. I had been after a long type jacket/ cagoule for climbing and walking in the hills, despite having several expensive coats and jackets. I found the Titan website, and thought that their...

    Shotgun?

Cheers for all your replies gents, Great post British Red. I'm looking more towards getting an side by side now on the basis of what British Red said, because I want that traditional feel. I think I'll keep an open mind though, and see what's available locally when I come to buy.
