    Hammock for a heavy guy

I'd suggest a Warbonnet or similar. I have the Blackbird (actually 2 of them) and they have a ton of space. The DD Hammocks are great entry level bits of kit, but just don't compare to this type of hammock. Much better sleeping and space and will be perfect for you...

Honey on Tour (Could become pic Heavy...)

Out along the East Lothian Coast in Scotland..... Funnily enough this place has been used for years it looks like for fires judging by the crumbling rock... Youtube vid :)

    Utag anyone???

I'm a biker and and don't believe these things would be any good given they are USB. Better to carry a card in the wallet or if an unusual blood type or condition, wear a normal printed or engraved dog tag in my opinion.

    Looking after yourself?

Sounds like you did the right thing and avoided any confrontation which is the best self defense. Usually if you think something is wrong with a situation and it doesn't seem quite right, it's because it probably there is something up. I'm sure you won't see them again. :) Just don't watch Blair...

Will be able to come along for the day (baby due around then so won't be able to stay over night) and don't mind contributing to the hall fees :) Still warming up after camping at Comrie last weekend :)

Camping in the snow at Comrie

The ice cream van shot was great! :) Tipi fire - the Tentipis are designed to be used with either a stove or open fire. The CP is a cotton polyester mix and resists the odd floating ember or spark well. There is also a chimney in built and a place designed to put the stove pipe through...

Camping in the snow at Comrie

Everyone thought we were mad going out but with the right kit we were fine. The Exped Synmat was really useful or two Thermarests my friend had. I'll have a look at that link - it really is a great way of stopping the smoke in the tent. :)

Camping in the snow at Comrie

A couple of mates and myself had planned a January camping trip at Comrie Croft for a while and we weren't going to let the snow put us off. We had a Nordic Tentipi, firebox and a good few other bits of kit to keep us warm. Firelighting was a bit trickier in the colder temps as was finding...

    Guatemala

That brings back memories of my Central America trip and especially my times in Guatamala visiting the same places you did. I remember going for dinner and getting locked in the restaurant behind iron bars with an armed guard at the door which added to the sense of adventure! The volcano...
