    Spoon carving

A spoon a day - That's amazing! Perhaps if my 52 spoons go well I'll have to graduate on to this challenge. My school is looking at redundancies so I may well have a little more time on my hands....

    Spoon carving

It's no surprise that many who enjoy bushcraft and camping out turn to spoon carving as a way to occupy their expensive folding saws, knives and axes during those hours when camp is all set up, the fire roaring and the kettle whistling nicely. Carving and wittling has long been a favourite...

Hey biker that's an awfully generous offer an I for one would love to take you up on it. If you came across a froe or side axe at such reasonable prices, that would be great too. PM me if you have any success. thanks

    chess?

I love chess and have a couple of really nice poratble pocket sets which means I can take them with me whenever I'm out and about. My brother turned his own set on his small lathe at Christmas for our dad - if he has a photo I'll get him to post it.

    my new cegga axe

Thanks for showing the axe. My little brother has one and I've used it a couple of times when in the woods - works very well and such a great price for a hand made axe. More to the point, i really like your rucksack - you couldn't tell me what it is could you? Thanks.

    bahco laplander saw

i was just going to let people know that Amazon are currently selling laplander saws for £13.53, which i thought was a good price, certainly less than i paid for mine. however, i didn't realize until i tried to order on that with postage it took the price to £17.59. Now, that's still not too bad...

    help with crooked knife

    Ticks the size of peas

i think tics is a growing problem wherever you go. I was in New York state a few years ago where limes disease was a real problem and people were dying from it. My wife had a tic burrow into her hip and it was very scarry - they had to send it off for analysis to check if it was infected or not...

    anyone made a lobster pot?

I say 'lobster pot', but I'm more interested in catching crayfish. I am canoing on one of the Thames tribuataries where I am led to believe there is an abundance of crayfish so would like to have a go at catching some. I think I know the general principle behind a trap but have not seen one...
