I can't think of anything I have to offer ... But I do fancy the boots. Are they 3 or 4 season? I assume 4 season, fully stiff, B2 or B3 crampon compatible?

I wonder if the weave of para cord is just too restrictive compared to, say, Amsteel? Good luck with it though, I look forward to the results

Thanks. This hammock is 155cm wide, I think it might be overzealous folding before whipping more than the width in this case but it didnt spoilt the night! Your sleeping bag underquilts were finished and taken with us but the students didnt call for them ... they must be a hardy bunch!!

I work for a college delivering a pretty 'outdoorsy' course to students aged 17 - (33 is the oldest I have taught here). The students got into hammocking after one of our bushcraft days when they hung my gaggle of 'spare' hammocks and all decided they had to have one. Nick at DD Hammocks set up...

I want to keep you guessing but will keep the thread on track with a prompt reply ;-) It involved a buoyancy aid, climbing helmet and harness ... the student was then belayed as he climbed through the parapet and down into the hammock before removing all the obvious aids (the BA is still on him...

My college students have really got into the hammocking lark thanks to the support of Nick and his team at DD Hammocks who set up a tremendous group buy for us. In preparation for a 2 night 'expedition' the students spent a day rigging hammocks in unusual places. It was pretty good fun, so here...

I don't want to compete with badger74 so I will sit in reserve for the Swiss volcano. I have a nearly new dry bag (10litres I think but maybe bigger) and a brand new set of goretex outer mitts and brand new dachstein wool inners. Have a knife for trade too
