Article: Helle Utvaer - bushcraft knife designed by Jesper Voxnaes (aka VOX)

I bought the Utvær partly based on this review and took delivery of it yesterday. I'm a little bit perplexed by the knife to be honest. Certainly a stunning looking knife out of the box. Closer inspection and I was a little surprised to note that the red liners were not flush with the scales...

Fjallraven Vintage 30 or Duluth Wanderer

Thanks, sounds like it's more an urban pack material. That narrows it down to a Duluth or Frost River.

Fjallraven Vintage 30 or Duluth Wanderer

Yeah the Frost River Summit and Vintage are on my list. Only hassle I thought with the summit is that there are no side pockets, so as you say the manner of packing it would be critical.

Fjallraven Vintage 30 or Duluth Wanderer

Thanks Rob, the appeal of a rustic pack is there, and as you say for a day out a bit of discomfort isn't a huge issue. I have a set of canvas motorcycle panniers and I do love the way they age and also the fact that they are near on indestructible.

Fjallraven Vintage 30 or Duluth Wanderer

Hi, after a bit of information and opinions. I looking for a day pack and would like something with a bit more of a traditional feel. I came across the Fjallraven Vintage 30 which has the traditional look I'm after with modern harness etc, which would make it comfortable. I have however...

    Article: FJALLRAVEN: VINTAGE 20

Thanks for the review. I really like the look of this pack however I am concerned about the durability of the g 1000 material and it's ability to resist tearing if snagged on a branch etc. I have never encountered any Fjallraven products in Australia, so have no idea what this material feels...

    coldsteel bushman

I have the bowie version, had it for 4 years now. It's incredible tough, nice and light despite it's size and holds a nice edge. I have not used it as a spear, as I have had no need, and that's not my thing I guess, but it would be easy to convert it to a spear head. I have used it for...

Which bushcraft era or style ?

Sigurd Olsen, John Muir and Les Hiddens all influential for me. The cattlemen of the Australian high countries also.

    Camp Knife

I have a BK2, it's an excellent prybar! Actually, I think it's surprisingly versatile. I take it on outback motorcyle trips as a substitute axe. Not sure if you could carve a spoon with it, maybe a wooden sledge hammer....
