toddy, i have had the original logmaker for about 3 years. the best way is get yourself 2 or 3 plastic dustbins, as the junk mail paper etc is finished with place in the bin. when full, add water and leave to soak.

it might be worth trying the end of the striker rather the the serrated edge, it works on my fire steel ok.

i have recently returned from a journeyman course. and i thought some of you might be interested in how i got on. the course is run by jeremy of islay birding and bushcraft on the 250 sq mile wild and rugged island of islay. while not advertised as a bushcraft course as such, there were loads...

it was good to meet up with leon again and meet dave, chris, john, matt and sam. a really nice group of people. i had a brilliant time.

ooops. i must admit i have not slept in mine yet, though i dont have any trouble getting into it. rolls up and dumps you on the ground you say? hmmm. ha, ha, any one want to buy a cheap hammock?

if you just want something cheap to start you off try army surplus stores. endicotts in exeter did have some cheap hammocks for £6.99
