    What's on your wish list?

Limaed, a quick google of the Ventile Smock shows it looks quite like an Arktis Smock, or maybe the other way round? I own an Arktis B110 and it's one of the best bits of kit i've ever had. The Ventile reminds me a bit of this Kay Canvas Windproof Smock. I don't know if they're any good mind...

Berghaus Crusader Size 2 - Swap for Size 3

I took a punt on a Crusader from the auction site but it's too small for me. It's in good used condition, although the previous owner has removed the baffle which separated the main compartment in two. I'm looking to swap for a size 3. Cheers.

Loch Macaterick - Galloway Forest Park - Wild Camp

Just got back from a weekend in Galloway Forest Park. We parked at Loch Doon Castle and walked along Forest Drive to the foot bridge at Craigfion. From here we headed to Loch Macaterick along forestry tracks and through fire breaks to reach the loch shore. We were aiming for the beaches which...

Loch Macaterick - Galloway Forest Park - Wild Camp

Hi all. I'm looking for some advice on camping at Loch Macaterick, as it looks like a lovely spot, as far as google satellite view is concerned. Does anyone have any experience of camping at this loch? If so i'd appreciate any advice you might have for me in terms of reaching it. Thanks!

    Wild Camping In Norway

As people on the forum were kind enough to try and help me with the planning of this trip I thought it only right that I put a little report here in case it is of benefit to anyone else planning something similar. I'd highly recommend Finnemarka for wild camping. It's easily accessible, and...

    Wild Camping In Norway

We're looking at Lillehammer as an option now as it's further north and will have snow in March. Does anyone have anyone have any experience of wild camping in this area?

    Wild Camping In Norway

Had a good read of that thread thanks for sending it my way! Looks like we can't count on snow being around. I know what you mean, on our trip to Finland in April of this year we found lots of snow but it was definitely melting making life harder.

    Wild Camping In Norway

Hi Janne, thanks for the update. I appreciate what you're saying re snow, and i am loathe to contradict a local, however I emailed DNT Oslo about this trip and they said the Nordmarka would have so much snow as to make hiking impossible in March. I hope they are right as we are unable to travel...

    Wild Camping In Norway

Thanks for the advice on skis vs snowshoes very informative! We have several novices in the group so we would need to pick a ski route which reflects this i suppose. Our aim is to spend a couple of nights camping in the snow, if anyone has any advice on route planning i would love to hear it...

    Wild Camping In Norway

Thanks to everyone for your replies. We are not experienced in either but plan to learn as we go. I have read snowshoes are easier, is this correct? If we snowshoe you can be sure we will be courteous and not destroy the snow for skiers! Are there Gapahuk shelters we can use? If so where would...

    Wild Camping In Norway

Hello, I'm looking for advice from anyone who has been wild camping in Norway. Some friends and I are looking at going next March. We aim to either ski or snowshoe and camp using tarps. We did a trip to Evo Hiking Area this April using lean to shelters which had firepits and hope to do the...
