Thanks all for feedback. I ended up getting Grisport Decoy boots - made in Italy and reasonably priced

Waterproof leather boots...how much to get a decent pair

I use Sealskinz socks with non-waterproof shoes for trail running. For dog walking would prefer boots with ankle support as they keep your feet warm as well as dry.

Waterproof leather boots...how much to get a decent pair

Looking to get some leather waterproof boots for walking the dog - usually have to walk in tall wet grass and muddy paths and fields. I have a pair of Rockport Lux Lodge boots that I got for about £20 at TK Maxx some years ago now. Sadly due to the crease in the front from walking, they are no...

    BASE CAMP SIMS

Bit late Laurence - I use the Thermarest Base Camp and they are super comfy. For even more luxury, there is the Thermarest Luxury Camp Alpkit do similar mats for less money but I think the quality of Thermarest is worth the extra.

She tried a Berghaus Trailhead 60 Women's backpack and whilst the torso length is adjustable the hip belt was too long and as a result loose. Had to buy a Gossamer Gear Mariposa in...

Exped Lightning 60 & Flash Pocket

Resurrecting an old thread.......thinking of buying this for my daughter (the women's version) She is 26 inches (66cms) just above her hip bone - wondering if the hip belt will be too big as Exped say it ranges from 78cms onwards. Would there be any way to make it a snug fit for her?

Best way to use a tarp with a tent

Depends on the tent I set up with my tipi using two poles

4 man tent with room for activities

A tipi due to the sloping sides doesn't give you a great deal of internal room relative to the footprint A tunnel design would give you a lot more room Something like this http://www.outwell.com/en/Products/Tents/PrivilegeTentCollection/Amarillo4Tent.aspx The advantage of the tipi designs...

Nice, cheap petrol lighter with O-ring seals(not a peanut lighter)

What variant of "oil" are these lighters fueled with? Is it traditional lighter fluid like a Zippo?
