Varusteleka - the strange surplus shop from Finland

Why should they prepare for something we decided to do. Plenty of EU companies just won't deal with us at the minute as it's too much hassle. Sent from my ELE-L29 using Tapatalk

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

They're a great shoe. I've just treated myself to the leather versions. Hoping they'll last even longer than the fabric ones Sent from my ELE-L29 using Tapatalk

The 'I've found a bargain' thread

Bargain but not the Goretex ones sadly. That would've been amazing Sent from my ELE-L29 using Tapatalk

Hellvellyn with a 7 year old.

Done it with my kids from Wythburn carpark. Straight up and down but youngest must have been 5 at the oldest. Take your time and enjoy it. The Western paths are all decent. We went that way as it's a very good path so places for others to pass easily. Sent from my ELE-L29 using Tapatalk

    State Pension Awareness.

I'm currently 36. My retirement age as a teacher is 68 both state and teachers pension. Honestly I'm not sure I know many people who could teach in a secondary school until they're 68. I've got colleagues who are 58 and already thinking of going/ counting down the days. Personally I'm not...

    Dremel's

Just seems to be a poorly made part. Little pin made out of a soft metal. No doubt I was too rough with it but still seems like a poor design. I was hoping someone had suggestions as the little pin is £9 with delivery online. Seems rather expensive for what it is

    Dremel's

I know this is a really old thread but I seem to have done exactly as the person above. I have opened it up to see that it's fixable however it seems to be a common occurrence looking online. So has anyone found a permanent solution to this? Or have a just been careless in the first place to...

Are the Lakes open from Wednesday or not?

I was thinking about this a little more this morning. No toilets are open along with pubs and cafes being shut. Not what you want after a 2 hour journey to get there. I expect some people will use nature but that could leave carparks rather unpleasant if they're bursting on arrival.

Are the Lakes open from Wednesday or not?

Cumbria is still pretty high on the number of cases and various authorities up here have basically said stay away. Lots of carparks including the national park authority are still closed. At the start of the pandemic cars were being vandalised around the Coniston area. I think it's worth...

Carrying an axe in the UK - In sight

I think you're going to get fewer strange looks carrying an axe in public at the minute than you would coughing. If it's properly attached to something and sheathed I can't see it being an issue if you've reason to carry it and the location isn't an issue. E.g Central London-No. Lake District - OK

    Your picture of the day...

Luckily I've got this in my doorstep so a regular little walk. Sunrise on Tuesday. Then one from this evening's walk

    Alpkit drybags WARNING.

I like the heavier duty drybags such as ortileb as overboard ones. Think all others will fail sooner rather than later. Sent from my ONEPLUS A3003 using Tapatalk
