British Army ECW gortex boots Temperature Rating Question

Personally mate I wouldn't bother with issued ecw boot, I find them terribly uncomfortable. But then they might fit your feet perfectly.

    Modified bivi bag

Well I was out in the newly modded bag on Saturday night in the bad weather we had, I had a dry nights kip and was nice and cosy under my tarp. However I think I need to do a mk 2, I normally put my roll mat inside my bivi but because I'd made the bivi thinner from the **** down the mat wouldn't...

    Modified bivi bag

Hi all, I've been busy over the last few nights making a few mods to my bivi bag. I've made it a little shorter and also thinner around the leg area and tapering up to full width at the shoulders. Thought I'd just share a few pics to show how I did it. I think it's turned out pretty good...

    Osprey exos 58

Hi I'm trying to get hold of an osprey exos 58 rucksack in jungle green and medium size. Everywhere I try seems to be sold out, does anybody know where I could get one or does anybody have one they wish to sell or trade? Thanks.

    Compass

good saying, i like that one!

    Compass

i definitely agree that mils can be confusing but after all its the same principle. i dont think there is a mils-degrees conversion table on an os map but i might be wrong.

    Compass

no need to use mils, i mean you can if you like but you'll find that your gma on civvy maps is in degrees so it makes sense to use degrees unless you have military maps.

    Compass

hi mate. in my opinion you cant go wrong with a silva expedition 4, ive had mine for ages and its sound. you can spend a small fortune on various compasses but to be honest i dont think you need a fancy expensive thing. just knowing how to use one properly is the key to good nav. so yeah id...
