Lightweight bivvy bags for use under a tarp

Good afternoon & thanks for the replies. The Hucka XL came back into stock yesterday so I've got one winging it's way to me for tomorrow. As with all my new kit (DD superlight tarp, EXPED 45 rucksack etc) I'll be evaluating it over a 8 day wander round the lakes starting around the 30th...

    A bargain tarp (possibly)

My wife came home with one of these looking pleased as punch.. We put it up in the garden for my 2 yr olds birthday party.. One gust of (I guess 25mph) wind and it tore the eyelet out of one end! Put up my D&D tarp and it survived perfectly fine even through the following storm... Oh and...

Lightweight bivvy bags for use under a tarp

Evening all, Spent this evening mucking about pitching my dd super light tarp in various configurations... nice bit of kit... very light but I dont think it will be as long lived as some. Anyway.. after some playing about with it and my oookworks groundsheet I've come to the conclusion I'd be...

Rucksacks for my new lighter kit list... Thoughts please..

Thanks again all. Sunndog - the granite was tempting but.. it was over my budget and although the sizes gave some adjustability for fit it didn't seem to have built in adjustment.. it also had a max load of 9kg... Which although I'd scrape under it sounds very light to me. I popped out for...

Rucksacks for my new lighter kit list... Thoughts please..

Cheers for the thoughts.. All the bags suggested look good.. particualy like the Exped and the review was really good to read. But alas swmbo tells me I've only got around the £100 mark to spend and given I'm off for my first trip in the first week of August I've not got the time to wait for...

Rucksacks for my new lighter kit list... Thoughts please..

Afternoon all, I'm having to cut my load down and down due to an injury.. I've cut my pack weight down considerably and I'm now contemplating the last part of my kit...the bag... I'll be using this kit in the lakes (wild camping high), Dartmoor or maybe Skye in August (where we go depends...

    3x3 tarp

For me it's a forced decision...I'm trying to cut every ounce of weight from my pack due to a couple of duff discs in my lower back. I can't imagine life without wandering the lakes, wales or the highlands each year..and camping wherever I end the day... but I simply can't lug my normal 16kg...

    3x3 tarp

Ive just clicked and purchased their super light 3x3 @ 460g. This plus an oookworks bathtub @170g and a few pegs etc and i'll be at around 800gr. Seems light enough to me... but then again I'm a newbie moving over form a 1.5kg gelert solo tent.

tarptent protrail anybody use one in the UK?

Thanks all. I think I've made my mind up to go for one of the two. I'm going to do a little reading up before I decide which.... I've got time as it's unlikely I'll be doing any serious hiking for a while... flippin duff disc.

tarptent protrail anybody use one in the UK?

Afternoon all, Following my lakeland trip having to cancelled due to my back going a few days before (injury is improving but will not ever "fix" totally) I'm now thinking of how to reduce the weight I carry for future trips. I've already cut a lot of weight over various trips but I still...

9 days hiking and camping in the lakes.

That's pretty much what we were thinking. My brother in law's done the coast to coast.. Ive done a bigish chunk of it. We were chatting over the weekend and we are still toying with other options.. Maybe Scotland or Ireland.. Even considered Iceland as flights are not too pricey. I guess it...

9 days hiking and camping in the lakes.

Evening all. After some thoughts/input. Ive been given a one week free pass by swmbo to go hiking in mid may with the brother in law. This will be the third year we've had the nod.. Two years ago we did a loop of north Dartmoor over a few days. Last year we did Coniston to Keswick over a few...

Well looking at the weather for next weekend.. Depending on if your a BBC weather person or a metcheck one.. Its either overcast with a chance of rain or its sunny with a chance of clouds.... Either way not too bad. Got all my kit out last night and found a few bits missing.. Having moved house...
