    Move over Walking Dead

Ah... But that is part of what makes it enjoyable (to me). A show that doesn't take itself too serious and just want to have a laugh.

    Move over Walking Dead

I wouldn't say that Z-Nation is competing with The Walking Dead... Two quite different shows with the only thing common being the dead being a bit restless. I do enjoy both of them though and happily recommend Z-Nation.

The Heroes of Telemark - The Movie

Or check out the original from 1948: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RNzU1hTNZgg The movie is a reconstruction of the actual events and several of the actors are actual participants from the raid.

Help a newbie out with his choice of knife

Karesuando make really nice knives, although the nice ones get pricy... Also, Casström make nice knives as well. Their No 10 Forest knife can be found for about £80 and is top notch. Or, if you just want a functional knife for a great price, Mora can't be beat. But, the main reason for my post...

The world of the lapps part one and two

FYI, the word "lapp" is considered to be derogatory. "Same" (pronounced with a long "a", as in "father", and "e" like in "bed") is the correct word... It's an old documentary, so nothing to do about that, but like I said: FYI. Cheers!

The Frame Backpack Project (Pic heavy)

Thank you all... The only time I cursed my little machine was when I made the belt. To keep the cloth from slipping around the padding I wanted to sew right through the padding. This turned out to be way to much for my little sewing machine (I figured as much before starting, but of course I...

    Making your own pack?

Haven't read the thread in it's entierity, but I'd thought I'd throw in a link to my own DIY pack. I have made a few adjustments to the carry system that doesn't show in that thread, though. Mainly moving the tension straps to the top bar of the frame and adjusting the belt (come to think of it...

    Animal Dangers.

    Animal Dangers.

Even though we have large moose, bear, wolf and boar here in Sweden, ticks are the only creatures I'm really worried about when out. I'm actually vaccinated agains TBE and fortunately Lyme disease can be treated with antibiotics (just make sure you catch it in time).

Living on an iceberg, mad or what?

Fascinating material. I really liked the Mythbusters episode were they made a motorboat from Pykrete.

    Scandinavian Mossies. How bad?

Ooooh, but the fishing there is really good. Brown Trout weighing a kilo is quite common, up to 5 kg not unusual and my grandfather once caught one weighing 10 kg. There's also good sized Charr, Whitefish, Grayling and Pike.

    Scandinavian Mossies. How bad?

Yeah... My dad was quite miserable when that photo was taken, even though he doesn't show it. :) As long as you find a way to keep them away from you you'll be fine, but that can be quite a challenge. I also forgot to mention the different kind of mosquitos and gnats you might encounter...
