Got the proper tin from waitrose on my way home,two rows of holes and 30ml of meths and I got a rolling boil. Buying the proper drill bit and found the template for the holes so may neaten things up a bit,currently some jets are more pronounced than others. Buster.

My large one from my mum turns out to be a Vango Exodus Polair 65ltr, top lid has its zip bust but I'm sure somewhere can fix it. Did she do good? She only spent penny's knowing my mum! Buster

So dremel out and another row of holes and finally got jets it heated my water but no boil. I'll check tesco for the tin,think aluminium would be easier to punch through, might need to invest in a better punch as well. Buster.

I used a 6mm hole punch as per the instructions online but I'll try and widen them. Tried it with Stanley and a canteen cup with the canteen cup obviously having room for air to flow in from the top and it still went out,so maybe your right the holes need to be bigger. Cheers Buster

Hi So unable to find a fancy feast tin in the UK i used a small tin from aldi that contained tuna and sauce. Tin is steel rather than aluminum if that makes a difference. Punched one row of holes as that's all was I able to do with the puny paper puncher I have, so maybe 16 total...

For those people that mentioned the canteen cup stove where in the UK can you get them? I think the hobo stove appeal for me was that I made it, it was cheap and it actually works. The Manchester seller seems sold out at the moment, I might drop them an email to ask when back in stock...

By shoulder flap on inside do you mean the side with 3 buttons is on the outside?? Also does anyone just use a half shelter? I love my lavvu but it weighs loads so I was thinking of taking a half and a walking pole to hold up the entrance. Thanks.

I meant to add I often carry a S10 respirator bag as well as the day sack,food/water/cooker goes in S10 and everything else in goes in day sack. I will have a look at those liners,cheers. Buster
